Hi-Toe 3: who’s tried them? Thoughts?

Let’s talks wedges. I have a set of edels that I treasure, but I’m a gear ho, so I am always looking to try new stuff. The new hi toes interest me and I’m curious of everyone’s thoughts. How are they playing for you?

additionally, I have looked at Cleveland wedges but don’t exactly know which ones everyone fanboys over.

Have a 60 in the bag. Spins a little more and launches a little lower, on all shots, than everything else I've tried. Very consistent

Good stuff. What bounce you go with?

Recently got an RTX Zipcore 56/6 and a Hi Toe 3 60/13. Both in raw. They’re awesome. So much versatility. The 56/6 is money from tight lies and firmer bunkers. It’s become my go to from 100 in, and around the green. So easy to flight down and it spins a ton. Softer sand or in the rough, the Hi toe excels. Great weight and balance. Also easy to flight down or go straight up in the air. Between the 2 wedges they cover every shot I’ll need from 100 in. Couldn’t be happier.

I first tried the 60.13 be even after bending it to 57 it was still too much bounce for tight and firm conditions. I have a 60.10 that measures at 58 out of store and seems about to perfect for me - I just need to test some flop shots off of hardpan.

I picked up a 50*09 and 54*10, took off the wrapper and went straight to the course.  So far I am impressed with the performance of them but I should caution I have only used them once on the course. However, my chip game around the greens that day was the best it has been in a while.  I left a few chips a bit short to the hole just because of the new wedge spin factor.  The flight pattern on the chips shots was low and controlled.

Out of the bunker, the 54* performed really well.  We've had a ton of rain towards the tail end of the summer here and the bunkers were all compacted.  I told my playing partners to watch out because I had 0 confidence how the wedge would react to the conditions but they ended up being excellent shots both times. One shot to note; I was in the bunker six feet from the hole, against the lip with the green sloping away from me.  No problem opening up the face and blasting that shot out with a ton of spin to stop it within a foot (I almost holed it out).

The sole is pretty special.  It seems to handle a variety of conditions well and dare I say lives up to TM's boisterous marketing claims.  I really like how low to the ground the face of the wedge sits to the ground. I have kinda hated full face wedges and thought they were a marketing gimmick but man, they do inspire confidence when you lay that face open.

I am coming from Glide 3.0 (50*, 54*Eye 2, and 58* Eye 2) and Mizuno T22 (54* and 58*). I have a 58* T22 in the bag and trying to decide if I am going to replace that with the 60* Hi Toe.

One note: make sure you know what length you need.  I ordered standard TM length which is .5" short from what I need. Totally forgot TM is .25' shorter than most OEMs.

Recent purchase for me. I’ve got the 58.07 Purchased it as kind of a finesse club to compliment my 50° and 54° Vokeys (just bought those too).

Definitely takes a little getting used to as ive never played a hi toe. but so far I’m liking it. The low bounce option definitely seems grab turf harder than other wedges I’ve played.

That said I seem to be generating good spin with it and I don’t have the best contact all the time. Fun club and I’m pleased with the purchase!

I just picked up a 52 and 58/10.  After two rounds, they are staying.  Coming from Ping Glide 4.0 which I really wanted to like but just wasn’t consistent enough.  For some reason the HI-TOE’s weighting is perfect to me where I can really feel the head. The 58 is so easy to nip shots off the turf and the 52 seems really consistent and forgiving on full swings. They spin plenty with Taylormade Tour Response ball.

I got the 54, it is a little more spiny and the ball flight is great.

Just go the 54/10 to replace my '19 PM Grind 2.0 54/14

I like the TM better. Less prone to go left on full swings. Less bounce. Better feel, better flight/trajectory, and more spin.

I'm kinda surprised because I've never liked TM wedges at all.

Are you playing the 52 on full shots?  From what I can tell, hi-toe wedges are generally designed for open faced/finesse or partial shots.  Curious how it's working out for you if using for any full swings?

I’ll chime in now that I have had some time with my Hi Toe 3 60*13 High Bounce. For reference, I play and practice here in AZ on pretty lush grass right now. I spend lots of time on my short game on the weekends. I miss too many greens and need a short game. Have owned the OG Hi Toe as well as the Bigfoot.

The Hi Toe 3 is my favorite by far. Waaaaayyyy better feel and way more spin than the OG. Spin is as good as my MG3 56. Absolutely love the high bounce. I can get very aggressive with nippers and and hit the high flop with no issues. Out of the sand is where I struggle really bad and this club has nothing but make me look like I know what I am doing. Can’t say enough great things about the ahi Toe 3. Almost wish I went Hi Toe in the 56 instead of the MG3.

I use my 50/54/58 for full swings and they perform well. I haven’t noticed any issues.
