Pt Judith CC

I was wondering if anyone has any in’s at Pt Judith CC in RI or ways to play it. Its on my bucket list in RI and i havent been able to play it. Im a high single digit handicap and know proper golf etiquette.

 

Any help is appriciated.

The amount of people who create and account solely to make one post requesting an invite to a private club never ceases to amaze me 🤣

Unless you know a member, your best bet would be to see if they host any charity events where they are looking for either individuals and/or foursomes. Additionally, you might have luck at another charity event where a round at PJCC is an auction item and can get on that way.

Join a course with a RIGA membership. (i.e Jamestown or Amateur Golf Tour of New England).

 

Get a foursome together this winter (all have to have RIGA membership). 

 

When late winter rolls around, go to rigalinks.org, and sign up for the mens invitational package that has Pt Judith in it, and hope you're lucky at getting selected.

 

There is no better route to getting on RI Private courses than this. Pt Judith was the 1st round I played in the invitationals almost a decade ago and have played almost all the private courses in RI since. The bugger for me has been RICC. Every time I was in a package that had it (3 times), I was out of town for work.

When I lived in Narragansett we used to sneak on in the offseason.  Nice track, even in the winter 🤣

Good luck Imp, hope you get the round in. I got rained out this week for Quidnessett and have my fingers crossed for next week at Misquamicut. Maybe warmer drier days are arriving soon?

Yeah, we got rained out at Pawtucket too. We already got a reschedule date for Sept. The guys I know in your package haven't yet heard.

 

And I sit here now wondering, do I know you? LOL (Better to remain anon here sometimes) 😉

Wow, do you ever have a chamber of commerce day for Point Judith! You’re likely on the course as I write this so have a nice round!

 

We may have crossed paths before but not sure we know each other. I will be playing the Sr Am (Pawtucket) and the Burke (Newport, Green Valley) this year - first beer is on me if you’ll be at either of those.

I haven't done the Burke since they moved it to Oct, which is vaca time for the wife, and I go along with her. 😉

 

And it was outstanding today, I'm happy with a 78 (par 71). No doubles though, a few traps where I didn't get it in 1 putt range to the hole... So, overall a fine day.  Should have been 75ish though, one pulled drive on 12, left me on a downslope of a mogul, so couldn't really advance it far. Then a topped iron from 165 out on 17. And a handful of 3 putts.

 

The real highlight though, was the 1st of two birds, sunk a 60 foot putt. Dead straight dying into the cup. I didn't remember those greens being as quick or sloped, as they were.

That’s nice play. Hoping you cashed as a deserved bonus. Not many 60 footers drained at Point Judith!

 

I am always very grateful for the top private clubs that lend their course to support RIGA. It’s a special treat for all of us.
