Foot joy premiere 2023 - anyone know if they are changing the fit

Yeah, those should be the Laser Street last. Fairly wide in the toe although not especially deep top to bottom in the toe area. Decent amount of depth in the middle if you have high arches. They say the heel is "slightly narrow" but on my feet the Laser series are still a bit too loose in the heel usually (although it's been many years since I last tried them).

If you have gotten on with Nike shoes in the past, my guess would be that something other than a Laser last in FootJoys would be a better bet for you. At least the ones I've seen in the past, Nikes tend to be more straight proportioned where the toe and heel are similar widths. The FootJoy Laser lasts are a little more wedge shaped with the toe wider relative to the heel.

The issue isn’t what last  FJ assigned to the new Premier shoes, it’s that the “last” doesn’t fit the same way it did in the past 30+ years. FJ knows this, in fact they even advise people to order a 1/2 size smaller and 1 width wider due to the fit not being consistent to past models labeled with the same last.

The easiest way for FJ to remedy the fit issue with Premiers is to just offer it in an XXW through the Myjoy program. Can’t speak for others, but I would order 3 or minimum if they did.

Is there a difference between the MyJoys Premiere shoe and the stock Premiere? I see that the MyJoys Tarlow list the Performa Last, MyJoys Packard list the Laser Plus Last and the 2023 catalog list the stock Premiere as Laser Street Last. Thanks!

Where did you see that.

performa is a women’s last. Website lists all the men’s premiere as laser street, including myjoy’s.

Hi @fjk, not sure of the mods will let the links through?

The performa last is on the current MyJoys Tarlow website.

The laser plus last is on the current MyJoys Packard website.

Ah I see. Must be a typo. Here for example is another myjoys tarlow link and says laser street.

Update, I called customer service, they confirmed the 1/2 size too big, did not know width recommendation. I have owned many pairs of Footjoys in +20 years, Dryjoys Tour, Icons and Icons Black (really miss the Icons) in size 9M US. I ordered a pair of Packards for fitting, 8.5M US, my instep did not fit comfortably in the M, 8.5 was fine. Returning the fitting pair, ordering a pair of Myjoys 8.5W.

Is the fit for 23 staying the same?  I’ve bought 3 pairs now trying to experiment to get the right fit and nothing is working.  Tried heel pads, extra eyelets, insoles and there is no medium.

the toe box and front on these is extremely strange, super narrow but the heel is super wide causing lock down issues.  In medium width, the front is too narrow but the heel lock down is ok.  In wide, the front is perfect but there’s so much heel slip that I almost come out of the shoes.  Heel pads improve slightly but make it feel very awkward.

really want to love these as stability and traction are unlike anything I’ve ever seen, but unless they change the fit, I’ve got to go a different direction.  Anyone know?

AMEN!  I totally agree with your comments.  I tried multiple sizes and widths of the Fields, finding one that worked was a PITA!  What did it for me was going to a local shoe store and measuring my foot on one of those foot measuring devices.  My foot measured an 11.5 narrow, and what do you know, no heel slippage and my foot bends at the right point in the shoes.  The problem is that FootJoy's narrow offerings are rather sparse.  I was only able to get the all white Fields in narrow, the Packard offered only the all white and black in narrow.

I'm completely confused now ion  the Tarlow last. I can't get ANY FJ model in XW in Canada unless I go MyJoys or go to US site (or Amazon USA) and probably ship to a postal  depot across the border. That is a cheaper option, but is hassle.

I ordered a pair of MyJoy Tarlows from Canada site last year and it says it is the Packard last.https://www.footjoy.ca/myjoys-customize?prodId=2070

I like them ok now but did some stretching on arrival.

The US site, that does have XW Tarlow as stock lists the Laser Street. https://www.footjoy.com/men/golf-shoes/spiked/premiere-series---tarlow/004DPS.html?dwvar_004DPS_color=53905#prefn1=gender&prefv1=Men&start=4

So,  could I expect  the Laser Street last to be wider in the forefront than the MYJoys I ordered. If so I might order a pair from US, with the same x-border issues if they DON"t fit.  I'm going to phone FJ USa but I'd like the expert opinions here as I have more confiidence than the customer service line. Thanks.

It’s likely a typo. Performa is a women’s last.

also agree with this. Same exact issue for me. I even went to the liberty to email FJ and ask about sizing recommendations as I have tried all the spiked styles in multiple sizes and widths. They never responded but hard for me to find a good with the the premiere series.

Have a new pair of the new Wilcox in medium width and they are similar sizing to last seasons Tarlow's. The Wilcox may be a tad more narrow, but not noticeable.
