G430 LST crazy low spin

As @mgoblue83 said, Foresight gives a healthy and inaccurate boost to super low spin drives. We've been seeing it for years, particularly on TXG's channel when Matt would regularly get similar numbers. He'd regularly push 330y+ carry on drivers with high 170's ball speed because he couldn't spin anything more than 2,200rpm and regularly lived in the mid/high 1,000's. No one is jacking anything up but Forsight and whatever is happening algorithmically there.

I must be spinning it a bit higher but I can't remember the figures right now. I do remember being around 3 or so degrees up into the ball with my 5 degree head. I didn't see my local foresight being much different if at all than what I see in real life except for the rollout. I also plug my numbers into the flightscope trajectory optimizer and it also gives me spot on carry numbers with what seems like reasonable roll outs.

He must have that gc4 jacked up. I call BS. I produce much faster ball speeds than him

From everything that i've seen, especially the MGS numbers, the Max and LST (other than the sound/Feel) lines were merging more and more. Shrinking to almost negligible difference in spin and launch, LST line increasing MOI more and more. It just seemed like those two lines were just merging based on what people wanted from their drivers.  I think this is their attempt to just fully merging those two drivers into the Max, and then creating an entirely different animal for the LST model. That's what it seems like to me at least.

In case he thinks I'm lying. This is first thing in morning after my first day of qualifying at the amateur long drive national championship. Was trying to see which driver I should hit and figure a couple things out. This "360" yard drive wasn't my fastest club speed or ball speed by a good bit.

I just commented on this video too. My name is Derek and I still call BS on GC4 over inflating numbers. Especially on low spinners and roll out. That's my opinion.

He is unwatchable. Like an 8 year old showing off.

Seems like Alex Etches lurks on the GolfWRX forums... e.g. latest video has screenshots of a few posts in this thread!

He had it set on 7.5* for most of the video.  He moved it back to 9* at the very end and got around 2,000 RPM spin when he said he caught it on the heel.  His last shot was around 1600 RPM spin and it went 365 total (maybe a toe strike?).  Either way, it looks like it controls spin quite well for sure which I'm excited about.  I always find it's a lot easier to add spin to a club that starts as low spinning as opposed to trying to remove spin from a club that is inherently high spinning.

Foresight software has a low spin “bonus”. Shots below 2,000 RPM get a major bonus. When I have my GC3 plugged into GSPro simulator, I get really big carry differences between Foresight and GSPro when the spin drops.

1) GCQuad sucks

2) Alex is a nice guy but his YT shtick is annoying af and is unwatchable

3) Watching people hit driver 300+ yds in any capacity is stupid for 90% of the golfing world to relate to a driver in a review

4) Sub 2000 spin is absolutely stupid and is unplayable on the course

5) If true based on several reviews, It looks like PING has made he next 'launch monitor queen' aka 'sub zero' model (Callaway) that sells drivers due to distance in the stores but is horrible on the course

The launch monitor queen is the exact way I feel about the Stealth that I've had in the bag all year.  It was 3-4 mph faster than everything else I tested but I have lost all accuracy on the course.  Hopefully the G430 LST can find its way back in the bag.

I can't be the only one a little concerned at this potentially being super low spin. Not all of us "long" hitters need/want something that spins low. I am naturally a low spin player with driver and with Ping drivers already being naturally heavy adding hotmelt to increase any spin isn't an easy solution. Can't stand to look at a bigger head shape in the Max either so hoping the spin rates on the G430 are playable.

I am seeing spin in the 2100rpm range. I love this driver.

I think Alex is great. On the topic of launch monitors, I do think Trackman is a much more reliable and predictable device for determining an on-course driver. Give Matt from TXG a Trackman instead of Quad and his numbers would be shockingly different IMO. YouTube is a product and they’re selling themselves to a certain degree. There’s a lot of inflated numbers and cutting out bad shots to give the appearance of better ballstriking going on.  I find Alex to be genuine and he is very honest about his own game.

Put it in play today.  No practice, just go.  Feel like it's knocking 300-500rpm off, big flat high boring flight.  Which I've been wanting.  Upgrade from the 425LST, no doubt.

Might even turn it down back to stock 9 once summer hits and the fairways speed up.

Sound is so muted which took a bit to get used to. Had to feel the face, because no more clanks when you don't hit center.  When you pure it though, feels very powerful.  No too low spin for me, I needed to knock off just a bit more as I continue to work on AoA.   About flat/+1 right now, so still trying to flatten out even more.

Very happy with the purchase.

I had a short LM session in GolfTown with the 430 LST and have to say I was impressed with the 6 shots I was able to hit. Not as long as my custom fit 2016 M2 but just as accurate and lower spin. I think with a custom fit I might be able to replace the M2.  Cracked the face on the 7th and they didn’t have any other demos so wasn’t able to hit any more. Will give it another shot when they get more demos in.
