I'm actually trying to figure out if this is a good deal or not. If they were the current generation, which improved durability, I think it's a good deal. I opened one of the sleeves and noticed it's the rounded alignment aid which was a previous version. I've been trying to figure out if these are the 2016, which had durability concerns, or the 2019 which were improved. Anyone know?

Number font is different than what I'm used to as well.  May be an older version, or maybe a rebranded ball???

Based on the side stamp, these look to be the 2016 version (2020 stamp only has the “Pro” with no “Vice”).

I was reading the MGS ball lab on Vice and they stated there was a 2019 version and it looked like the same side stamp. 

 

Edit: it was actually on the Vice site I saw reference to a 2019 version.

It is not uncommon for a company to reference multiple years for the same model (Vice uses 2019 in their graph since that was the last year for that particular model). Ultimately the Vice Pro remained unchanged from 2016 thru 2019 until the update was released in 2020 (which was accompanied by a stamp change).

That makes sense. Sounds like these are the version that had the durability concerns so maybe not the best deal. I used the 2020 version last year and really liked them and didn't have any concerns with durability.

So, this may not be definitive - but online it shows the box with the label of 2019 Hot List.  So maybe 2019 version?

The 2019 on that label refers to the year of GDs hotlist, not in any relation to the ball. It is not uncommon for companies to add award labels (GD Hot List or MGS Most Wanted) to their packaging without a change to the actual product.

Tried that -- but the code does not work.  Cannot seem to find a solve.  Says that the deal is not available.
