Q school final stage this week

Looks like the RTJ Trail has taken over as the Alabama/Georgia qualifying sites. Pretty weird the finals are in Savannah.

 

Used to love watching those early rounds when I lived down there.

Looping it this week. 2 courses, magnolia the tougher of the 2 has some crazy greens. Guys will rip up Marshwood. Weather looks perfect and the wind should blow some.

Was your guy exempt into this or did he have to go through prior stages?

He was exempt through first stage, I didn’t work 2nd stage for him. He’s a previous pga tour member so he has the game to get to that level.

Saw the Golf Channel piece on the finals. Didn't get to watch any. But, some pretty amazing stories. Nice to see them throwing some attention on Q-School again!

Not a ton of drama. Watching Trent Phillips melt down was tough. Seemed like they stuck to showing the leaders vs those guys on the cut line which doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

I don't think the current format really lends itself to drama, unfortunately.

Congrats to Willie Mack III.  T12, so he will get at least 8 starts.  I actually played with him the final round of the Flint City AM many many years ago, when he was still a HS student.  My son caddied for me and was Willies age.  

Willie went on to win several City AM’s along with the Michigan Am,  but his career with a few exceptions has been Mini tours.  I hope he makes the most of this opportunity.  Fine young man.
