Spring Break Golf/Beach trip, need help on where to go

I’m trying to decide between a few different options for a Spring Break week-long beach/golf/family trip around March 26, 2023.   Prime candidates are Sea Island (Georgia), Amelia Island (Florida), and the Dominican Republic (Caso de Campo or Punta Cana area).   From what I can gather, the golf would be fantastic in the DR, very good at Sea Island, and good (but not great) at Amelia.  Beaches seem very good at Amelia and probably not as good at Sea Island.  Not sure on DR beaches.   Cost and hassle factor appear higher in the DR, though I’m not sure on costs. 

My son (age 15) and I are avid golfers and good players, but we don’t need to play every day.  3 rounds would be fine, but we’d like to have the ability to hit balls at a nice practice facility near our lodging each day.  Course conditions are important to us.   Firm, fast greens mean a lot.  My wife and daughter don’t play golf and are more interested in the beaches and pools.   Finally, to save costs, we might try to do a VRBO for 3 – 4 nights, then move to a resort for 3 – 4 nights to get a golf package (particularly if we are going to go with the DR).

Sorry for all the detail.  I’d love to get any thoughts and recommendations from those who have experienced these places.  Or, if you have a different recommendation, I’d love to hear it (but keep in mind that we only are interested in locations that are warm and have good beach and pool access).   (I will also post in the Southeast region forum and the Carribean forum

Casa de Campo would be the first choice from among the destinations you listed if top quality golf and top quality resort with beach is what you want. It is one of the nicest resorts in the world and Teeth of the Dog is a great and memorable golf course. The other courses there are okay, but not in the same class.  However, it is very expensive.

 

Punta Cana has more options on lodging at a wide range of price points. Many of them do have beaches. There are two courses in Punta Cana that stand out above the others. Punta Espada and Corales. They are also expensive. If you play one, make it Punta Espada. Punta Cana has a number of less expensive golf options, but none as good or memorable as those two. However, if you are looking for a nice beach vacation at a reasonable price you can find options for golf and lodging in Punta Cana, just not the top resorts and top two golf courses. If you want something less expensive, there are plenty of rentals through VRBO and Air B&B  on both Florida coasts. But you need to book early as Spring break is high season
