When did fashion peak on tour?

Agreed - Adam Scott is probably the guy currently on tour that I'd still look to if I was the kind of person that keyed my fashion choices off other people. Always looking classy.

I can't wait for pleated trousers to come back, it's a nightmare to find good ones these days.

Also, his wardrobe these days is affordable too. You only have to buy one sweater.

We walked and carried most of the time (in the Northeast US).  Autumn golf was awesome, but from June to August...

Bless your heart.  It is still summer now in some places.  Truck thermometer said 82 just now.  Not that that is hot, it is actually really nice out.

ALL that said, I have a pair of joggers that I wear at the muni every now and then and they are super comfortable. But I also think I will look back on them in 10 years and think they looked stupid.

Kudos for being solidly reflective.

The same goes with white pants and white belts.

I'll wear white (cream) linen slacks on occasion when it's hot and tropical, but always with a black belt... to match the shoes.

Phenomenal clothes horse.  You would not believe the amount of drycleaning we had to wheel up to his room when he was staying at our hotel in '96.  I remember we used at least two full bell-carts, and we were running out of places to hang clothes.

Most people, if they sent out cleaning at all, had one, maybe two plastic drycleaning bags worth of clothes.  Easy to place in their closet.

Not Jesper.

I never once thought I would hear someone say "bring back pleated trousers"

Golf pant cuts went way too far in the opposite direction over the last 20 years, in my opinion--they're now too tight through the top block and too low in rise. That's why people are calling for pleated trousers now. For guys with long torsos or who aren't built like a plank, that low-rise cut just looks and feels awful.

... Folks talk about equipment being hype but clothes are a whooooole 'nuther level. As a life long hippie wearing frayed jeans and tee shirts through high school and college, clothes never mattered much to me. Yes, just like everyone else I enjoy looking nice but so much of "fashion" comes and goes ... you know ... to sell more clothes. Pants cuffs are in and then out and then in again and then yes, out at the moment. What surprising is those that actually think it makes a difference. Had a friend say "you know those cuffs are a real no-no these days" and I had to smile. The clothes I bought when I first started playing golf would be just as appropriate today, although some of the materials have made leaps for keeping me cooler in Phoenix 110* days.

... And of course fashion is not universal. Just look at the Euro's wearing the most obscene color combinations and look like they would fit right in with Leonard, Sheldon, Howard and Raj. Yet over there they are the epitome of style.

You just gave me a "big bang" idea!  I'm going to start wearing Sheldon outfits to the course.

As I see it, professional "style" peaked, when youngsters showed up wanting to make the workplace, so it doesn't look like work.  That's also when tournament venues got faster and rough got short to non-existent.
