SC300, MEVO, PRGR

I tried the Yupiteru (brother of PRGR?) and it was a joke. The Sc300 was really compact and easy to use but gave incorrect readings often. Also no lateral ball flight or any software.
I just got the Garmin R10 though and it’s on another level for only $599. I can’t even believe they give you all what they give for that cheap. And it’s super well designed. Just my thoughts.

Of the devices you listed, I’ve used the SC300i. It did a good job with distance and I liked the voice feature when hitting into my net in the backyard. I’ve also used the Garmin R10 and it provides so much more for only $100 more in price. Never tried the PRGR or Mevo, but thinking about getting a PRGR because it’s affordable, easy, and gives me what I’m primarily after - swing speed, ball speed and distance. Mevo is on sale for $300 right now, so that has me a little distracted.

I got the SC300i before the Garmin was available. But the SC was better than the mevo for outdoor into a net. There are some glitches every once in a while with it but it is good for speed testing and A/B applications.

I just got the R10 and to be honest the setup and stuff is a hassle and I've found it to not be all that accurate. I want SS, BS, Distances, and launch angle. That's pretty much all I need. The thing I do like about the R10 is it gives you Spin. Really it gives you Just about Everything. I've been thinking about switching but it's just hard to get rid of the R10. It's pretty good for the price

What would you switch to?

I am also curious.

I am building a simple driving net and also need a budget friendly

launch monitor that gives me the most accurate readings for the this "budget category".

I also considered the PRGR but it has no spin numbers

I have been watching videos about the mevo and they said it

gives somewhat accurate numbers plus good/almost accurate spin numbers.

While R10 is good but some say its not accurate?

Is the Mevo more accurate than the R10?

or is the extra $200 for the R10 worth it?

Thanks!

The more I've been dialing 8n the R10 I can say it's pretty dang Accurate my 8i carry/total distances are pretty spot on for what they are on the course. I've only been using 8i and 7i till I get the settings and all figured out.

thanks.... by dialing in you mean you're changing elevation until you get the correct distances?

by doing this, will this also change your spin numbers to a more accurate result?

Yes Elevation was one thing but also playing around with distance from net to ball and ball to R10. Also software trying to figure out which is best and most accurate.

Oh I just read on another thread that using stickers with the R10 might degrade the results.

I have put Foil tape dots on the ball and yes it does work, it just doesn't pick it up every single shot like a RCT ball would. I actually just ordered the RCT balls that way everything is just more accurate

Any suggestions if one only wanted indoor ball speed accuracy? I could live with only that metric if it was accurate

If all you want is ball and club speed, the Hybrid X3 from SwingLogic will serve you well. They're working out some kinks with the sensor portion. And once that's figured out, it'll be a heck of a LM for the price.

But if all you want is basic data, it's GTG now. You can even use it without the glove attached sensor. As the main unit will give club and ball speed that's very accurate.

Big upside to it is that it's not picky at all about setup, and is one of the best in terms of spacial requirements.

    • In-hand photos of 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus, Stealth 2, Stealth 2 HD drivers + fairways woods
Check out our front page launch stories here and here.

What you need to know: For the first time, carbon is the most prevalent material by volume in a TaylorMade driver, and more carbon equals better performance, says the company. Last year, TaylorMade debuted a 60X Carbon Twist Face. With TaylorMade Stealth 2, engineers are bringing carbon to more of the golf club — and unveiling a new-and-improved Carbon Twist Face in the process. Stealth 2 Plus (low spin, most workable) Stealth 2, and Stealth 2 HD (draw bias, high launch, most forgiving) drivers make up the Stealth 2 family.

What you need to know: Breakthrough movable weight technologies and versatile designs are the hallmarks of the 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 fairway woods. Stealth 2 Plus is branded as “three fairway woods in one” owing to the unique performance characteristics afforded by the 50-gram sole weight. Stealth 2 features a slightly lower profile 3D carbon crown than Stealth. This moves CG down and away from the toe with more weight in the rear of the club for higher launch and MOI. Ultra-high MOI Stealth 2 HD features an oversized 200cc head and low-profile sole, creating an easy-to-hit, draw-biased club.
