Driver 92-93mph

 

7 iron carry about 145-150

 

I realized I had a set of .370 heads here so I built up the seven iron and took it to the range. I really liked the shaft…good loading and launch and a strong trajectory. Putting a typical weight of head on this shaft led to a slightly heavy swing weight but I like it and the impact pattern was consistently centered. 
 

I built up the rest of that set 6-pw. Wish they were ready to play this morning. I’ll give them a few rounds and if they continue to impress I’ll be shopping for a better/more recent set of heads for these shafts.

Yeah, not switching irons too much is a good idea. I'm going to stick with the Haywoods. Started saying to myself "maybe I should get a forgiving iron set to compare?" but would waste the season going back and forth round after round and end up where I started.

 

Make myself a nasty new putter, buy a driver. Thinking PXG. Hopefully no other changes. Then buckle down and play some golf.

I’ve heard good things about Fourteen clubs TB5 OR TB7 but they are on the higher end for price.  TXG recently did a review of them.

I have a bag full of Sub 70's that I was fitted for. Irons, two hybrids, a fairway wood, and putter. I'd likely play them even if they weren't half the price of the OEM's. Everything about the clubs themselves and the service Sub 70 provides is top notch. This has been mentioned ad nauseam here, but I still feel obligated to say it.

Thick topline and offset scream game improvement, but look like a players iron from the back.  Price is certainly low enough.
