I had the Altomare-LeBlanc-Stephenson yesterday. All finished under par and all in different ways. Leblanc hits it miles past the others. Her drives were in the 270 range. Stephenson was hot and cold with her shots. Altomare is by far the shortest hitting her drive around 220y. She had a lot of 3 woods into greens yesterday. Very impressive with that club.

Interesting leaderboard. Someone got the memo that it's a 54 hole shootout, and the birdiefest began quickly. Lots of players looking to keep their cards in the mix. Always makes you wonder where they're game has been all season.

What's happening to Lydia at the top of her driver swing?

 

Club is wafting everywhere, I don't like what I see re consistency with that movement. Not every driver swing but some.

 

Looks like Cam Smith pre this year (he tightened that up somewhat and look what happened: Players and The Open wins)

FWIW, the original layout was called "Belleview Biltmore GC", it was a par 71, B=6614 71.7/128, W=6137 69.2/125, Y=5706 67.4/118, R=5143 69.8/118. It WAS a Donald Ross design, new owner, $$$Billions, decided reroute some of the holes, moved water to different locations. Back in the day played there for $30.00. I understand the membership fee is $60k + monthly, no carts caddies only. What I don't understand is the investment, because there is another private golf course, about a mile away, Belleair CC, that has 36 hole of beautiful Donald Ross design?

Looks like Maria Fassi cooled off today and opened the door for a battle tomorrow. Can she hold on for win or her 5th career top ten?

 

Maja Starks go big or go home attitude paid off nicely today, hope she plays aggressive yet smart tomorrow.

Nice rounds by Leona, and Yu Liu. So nice to see Yu have a good day.

 

Tough day for Tiffany Chan going from a tie for second with a 64, to missing the cut with a 77. That's gonna leave a scar.

 

The morning wave looks like they had a bit of an advantage today.

Completely agree. From what I heard part of the reason this was built was because of the wait list at Belleair. The course is fairly boring IMO. The greens are everything at that course.

I think this means she needs Moriya, Porna, Mathilda or Stacy to crash and burn in Round 3, and even then it might not be enough.

 

Does anyone know who the 3 qualifiers that are going to miss are? I know one is Linn Grant.

Gonna tape it for breakfast tomorrow. Its only Maja and Linn that play TV appearance play these days(we aint big and our players have to work hard for us home fans to see anything of the local favourites). And Maja is my favorite regardless of nationality as well.

She hasn't teed it up since the VoA in late September, so I believe it would be back to back wins.

I had a premonition at the start that Lexi was going to win this. But somehow I doubt it......

 

Amazing what an anticipation of money does to a golfer. Matilda Castren, who has been pretty so-so recently is suddenly 7 under when she realised that on 62 she wouldn't get into the CME Globe unless she posted a really low score.
