Miura CB57 vs CB501

Differences? Looking at my first reasonably priced Miura set.

 

How do they compare to Mizuno mp32 or mp67?

They look legit to me. The Y grind for me is the first indicator.

They are getting harder and harder to track down in GOOD shape. 

 

It's a full set, 3-P. Only missing the elusive 2 Iron, which I've only seen one, in hand, in 9 years since release.

Have you tried all the other miuras or mizunos? Playing mp32 mp67 right now

I'll take your word for it and pick em up. Not sure if the shafts will be too whippy as I play x100s

All relative. Those have GD ADDI shafts in the 3 and 4.

Shouldn't be an issue on those. And the Nippons should move relatively quick too.

I have both MP-32 and the CB57. Both excellent but I prefer the feel of the CB57.

The leading edge is ground down to improve turf interaction.

I think it is named after Yoshitaka, one of the sons of Katsuhiro Miura.

I have CB57's in the bag and have for over a year now. Scooped my set up at a local Edwin Watts after the guy in front of me traded them in for some t100s's...Mind blowing. They couldnt mark them up due to their rules so I walked out with a set of basically brand new CB57's for $600. Ripped the shafts out and put mine in and havent looked back since. They are FANTASTIC irons. Very easy irons to work with too if you are reshafting yourself. The tolerances are crazy good...I came from JPX900 Tours and these are buttery compared to those 900's.

I've also gamed the CB57's for a few seasons now.  They are quite literally one of the greatest traditional cavity backs of all time.  It's a seven year old club that holds up to any traditional cb in the game today.  Perfect mixture of distance, forgiveness and playability.  Lastly, that feel at impact is something else.  Only those who have played Miura's know that powerful feel at impact.  Not butter soft like you would expect but such a unique feel that makes you tingle with goodness.  I'm now in Mizuno 223's only because I don't want to run these to the ground.  I'll be holding on to them forever lol

If you are looking for a players CB, nothing wrong with the 57 its a classic. Myself when trying them I liked the CB1008 a smidge more. This was pre-2020 when used market was flat and niche brands like Miura were usually priced a bit below the big players, and 2nd swing had sets of both. 

 

When reshafting my 1008s last month you know they are legit with how tight the tolerances are. Weight, hosel bore...makes my P770/790s look like amateur hour (and I like those clubs, just had to get creative with tip weighting to do a MOI build 😄 )

 

The Miuras are my funday set...if I was going to game them I would get one to rock and one to stock, those CB301s on BST are sooooo tempting.
