I think it's Lyds. Why? I think there is a discipline and focus in her game, of a woman on a mission, and running out of time to achieve it. The mission is...who knows? Rolex No. 1, Vare Trophy, Golf Hall of Fame?! Or, all of them.

Outside of Lyds, I think Nellie, Atthaya, Hye Jin and Hyo Joo are the obvious ones, with current form.

Someone mentioned Hannah Green as a not so long shot - and I agree with that too. I give Minjee, Jin Young, Sei Young, Lexi and Jennifer very little chance.

Conditions look ideal. Plenty of birdie opportunities out there. Nothing shocking yet.

What is going on with Patty?

I'm feeling bad for her.. Her game used to be so solid and long.

Another example for how difficult this game is, even for the most talented players.  She looked like a future world #1 after the major win in the desert.

Hopefully she can turn this around.  I'd start by having Grant Waite on the bag for her when he can.  He was a really good influence on her game when she was rising

That won't happen:

Grant Waite

"That list no longer includes Patty Tavatanakit, however, who recently told Waite that she wanted to go her own way. The pair went to work ahead of the 2021 season, and she broke through with the Chevron Championship title and Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year Award. The pair have worked together on and off this season."

It's nice to hear Terry in the booth, but at this point I think Grant has earned the right to cover the tour championship.

I do miss having Jerry out on the course.

It was great up until the minute it got weird with the awkward environment talk. I thought I was going to be lectured there for a minute for my gas leaf blower.🤣

I went to the Tour Championship today and saw what looked like a real dust up between Charley Hull and Jodi Ewart Shadoff. I didn't follow that group, but towards the later part of the afternoon we found a spot about 100yards from the green on the 18th hole.

Shadoff's ball went into the hazard and she and her caddy looked like they were trying to locate it. Charley had hit a longish drive into the narrow part of the fairway in good position, a good 20-30 yards past Shaddoff's drop. Instead of waiting for Jodi the away player to hit her shot, Charley quickly went into her routine while Jodi and caddy were looking for Jodi's ball. Charley addressed the ball, then looked over her shoulder at Jodi getting ready to drop and going through her yardage book and Charley backed off her ball. She immediately went BACK into her pre-shot routine, addressed the ball, then stepped away and appeared to snap at her caddie. Shadoff looked like she had dropped and was ready to go. Charley immediately went through her routine and hit a mediocre shot.

Charley then threw her club a good 10 yards and began marching down the fairway while Jodi was hitting her shot. Charley stopped about 50 yards from the green and kind of stomped back to her caddy. Jodi hit a good shot inside of 10 feet and made the par save. When both players were finished with the hole and the round, there was no typical hug, just fist bumps but when it cam time for Charley and Jodi to fist bump, Charley kind of punched Jodi's had away.

I don't know if this incident is what set Charley off or if something had happened earlier in the round. Did anyone else see what happened between the two of them? Was there an earlier incident? I've never seen anyone act like this at an LPGA event. I've watched both of them  at LPGA events both on course and on the range but I've never followed either very closely. Are either Charley or Jodi or both typically volatile?

I was really surprised by what I saw.

They didn't show any shot of either player all day so I don't know but Charley does seem like she could be a hot head.

But this is the drama we need. 😂 Watching Lydia drain putt after putt is getting boring 😂

On another note I think there is still a wide range of players who can win this.

Lyds doing what Lyds does! She really is in form! How simple is putting?!

I was impressed with Tenacious D also. She has an ominous air about her.

I note that JYK got it back to even, which is a pleasant surprise. However, the one swing I saw her make had that horrible over the top move at the top. Looks like the wrist gives way at the top of her swing, or she flinches. It's not pretty. I hope she sorts it out in the off-season.

Is Jeeno suffering a little burn-out? I think there is nothing going fundamentally wrong, just she has lost her mental edge. It's been a long haul since the Czech Open win, May '21.

No, we don't need this drama. It just happens - they are human (I think!). Lydia's putting never gets boring!

I agree about potential winners. Only a handful have knocked themselves out of it at this stage.

Jeeno will find a way to get a backdoor top 10 with a 64 on Sunday.

    • In-hand photos of 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus, Stealth 2, Stealth 2 HD drivers + fairways woods
Check out our front page launch stories here and here.

What you need to know: For the first time, carbon is the most prevalent material by volume in a TaylorMade driver, and more carbon equals better performance, says the company. Last year, TaylorMade debuted a 60X Carbon Twist Face. With TaylorMade Stealth 2, engineers are bringing carbon to more of the golf club — and unveiling a new-and-improved Carbon Twist Face in the process. Stealth 2 Plus (low spin, most workable) Stealth 2, and Stealth 2 HD (draw bias, high launch, most forgiving) drivers make up the Stealth 2 family.

      Stealth 2 HD

What you need to know: Breakthrough movable weight technologies and versatile designs are the hallmarks of the 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 fairway woods. Stealth 2 Plus is branded as “three fairway woods in one” owing to the unique performance characteristics afforded by the 50-gram sole weight. Stealth 2 features a slightly lower profile 3D carbon crown than Stealth. This moves CG down and away from the toe with more weight in the rear of the club for higher launch and MOI. Ultra-high MOI Stealth 2 HD features an oversized 200cc head and low-profile sole, creating an easy-to-hit, draw-biased club.
