Dude just cannot accept that the game is "hit ball, find ball, hit ball again till in the hole."  He needs it to be more complicated to keep his mind busy.

He also tends to believe his own BS. He posted a video on TikTok a few days ago talking about how he hits putts and makes contact with the ball on a specific part of the dimple because "it affects launch angle and direction" if you hit a different part of the dimple. I mean, seriously...

The belief may be the part that makes him a decent short putter. The actual "science"...LOL

I've said that for a while.  I have ADD myself.

(I am at work now, doing ISO stuff, listening to a podcast and typing out this response.  About every ten minutes I need to switch what I am working on to stay productive throughout the day.  I get a lot of stuff done but I bet it looks frantic to other people.  I have about 50-11 projects going on at home too.  Have an old Massey Ferguson tractor took apart, some raised garden beds in process, a 98 suburban with the interior ripped out and in process of restoring.  I am probably missing something.)

So…… did we just become best friends ? 😂.

Nobody in history better than EM at managing resources and teams to attain the farthest reaching goals.

Make mass produced cars that don’t use gas.

Make space travel economical with reusable rockets 🚀

The issue with Twitter is, what is the goal? What is it?

I don’t think even he knows 🤣

I don’t know either. But it’s entertaining.  The hidden audio on the call he had with a senior staffer is pure gold.  She literally tells him that “ we cant be in person in the office anyway. We each have offices and we shut our doors “.  He says “ they can show up in office , in person or I’ll consider that resignation accepted …. End of story “.   Can you imagine telling a ceo who just laid off 4K workers that  you don’t want to come to work ?  You survived that layoff only to now gripe about it ?  It’s unconscionable.

Comments here in deChambeau and those on Musk are pretty much at the same level of envy, ignorance, and spite.  Sometimes it seems the internet has turned into a echo chamber for the “lowest common denominator” opinion and those most active on it don’t want to hear anything else.

To those people excellence and the pursuit of it are foreign and scary.

Sometimes?

I mean a golf ball isn't perfectly smooth so that variable does exist.  It doesn't mean enough to me or anyone else I play with to matter.  He thinks it does.  He may have tested it enough to show that it does to a very small degree.  If he can consistently strike the back of the ball on the same part of the dimple (I can't) then he has eliminated a source of variation.

His thinking regarding process variation is not wrong, he is just probably overlooking other causes of variation that have a larger impact.  And I believe the dimple deal is largely uncontrollable.

Brooks wipes the face of his putter after practice strokes before striking the putt in case it picked up a grain of sand or blade of grass.  That makes sense to most of us.  It is the same principle just more impactful and probably more controllable.

Y=mX1 + mX2 ...

BDC is probably down to about Xsub20.

ya, Looks like he already sucked down to 200 lbs, you can really see it in his face, looks much better.

Wouldn’t be surprised is he gets down to 190 or less.

Considering he never did any compound lifts, that would be the right weight for him at around 15% bf.

He will get pretty lean and already has, when your face chisels down is when you are losing good amounts of fat. He isn’t having his body settle. He is on a pretty strict healthy diet with chefs that rich people can afford to reverse the weight he put on. Totally different than body settling down.

Not that I ever did that.

If he’s really 6’1”, he is weighing 195-200 and caliper testing around 8%BF here. He will try and stay in this range if he continues with his lifting and long drive stuff.

what he has done is just a long bulk and cut to get where he is at now. There is some photoshop tricks going on in that pic as well.

Yep it’s a real thing. But it’s highly impossible to control.

he first made that claim a year or two ago. Somewhere I have a couple pics I took of a Bridgestone ball on my putter face on different strike positions…. You can clearly see the difference at certain points on the dimple.

edit - here’s the pics. Clearly there’s a edge and slope to the dimple sides.  Vs perfectly square on a dimples middle.
