just picked up a dozen triad the other day and played one in 32° windy day.  Challenging conditions with the greens frozen.  So bump and run fun was had.  
 

anyways I was really impressed with the triad.  It did what I expected.  Will get more and maybe even play them next year. 

 

but of course why trust anything said by some one fool enough to play in those conditions.

Snell MTB/ MTB X in the summer and Snell Get Sum in the winter. Helps in New England weather where it gets colder and switching to a bright yellow ball helps with seeing it in the leaves and glaring sunlight too.

I don't find any advantage to "matching" type of ball with the season. What I do find is that in January, February and even into March the course is typically so soft and waterlogged it hardly matters at all what ball I use.

 

The only real distinction between balls for me (other than distance which tends to be VERY similar across most balls) comes down to height and spin and stopping power. When balls are plugging in their own ball mark none of that matters at all so I do sometimes wonder why I'm still playing $4 Tour balls when a $1 Maxfli plugs just the same🤢

Prov1 when it’s warmer and yellow AVX in the cold and or wind.
 

Less spin on the avx cuts the wind better for me and I like the lower compression in the cold. Driver swing speed around 100.

I change from white to yellow in the winter. Yellow balls are so much easier to see in dormant muddy bermuda grass. Also easier to follow the flight on clowdy days.

Winter (When I was living in Michigan): Bridgestone TreoSoft

 

Winter golf is cold in Michigan, so played with a soft ball. Kept one in pocket and swapped each hole. Also, TreoSoft can be had pretty cheap and it is easy to lose balls in the winter in the leaves and debris. Even in the fairways.

 

Living in Charleston for the time being, and don't change balls.

I've done some experimenting with different balls when the weather gets cold.

 

For me, I've found that the softer ball does indeed go further than my gamer(s) Bstone RSX/ProV1. I don't have the "plugged" issue with fairways that are quite firm.

 

I also alternate balls. Keeping one in my pocket and then switching on the next hole.  At the end of the hole, I drop the ball in my pocket with the other one and then when I get to the tee, reaching in my pocket I can clearly feel that one (golf) ball is warmer than the other. Easily tell which one to play next.

I’ve always sensed the softer lower compression balls perform better on irons and approach shots in 40-50 degree temperatures with mild wind. I tried the AVX and I seem to over compress it with driver and miss it left more often than not so the Top Flite has helped that and it is only $1/ ball

summer arrived down here a month ago have been using yellow CSX LS triple track really enjoying that ball, it can be a bit tricky around the green on partial shots but overall really enjoying it.

over the winter months i had great results with std 2021 CS triple track in yellow, i think im set for a bit so long as Cally doesnt upset the apple cart and change something for the worst.
