Vice pro/pro plus vs current gen prov1x

Thinking of switching to vice… either the pro or pro plus. I’m looking for a higher launching ball with max total distance. I currently play the prov1x for the higher launch. The feel and spin around the green doesn’t matter as much to me. The comparisons on the vice site are nice but I think it’s the older gen prov1/1x on the chart. Also have read come conflicting reviews on total distance vs prov1/prov1x

Anyone on here recently switch to one of the vice pro’s from prov1x? Which of the vice’s launch higher (I think is the pro and not the plus)? How does the total distance compare?

For reference my current carry distance with driver is right at 260. Not sure my swing speed but maybe around 108? Currently training to raise that.

Just looking for some feedback.

I prefer the Pro Plus over the latest gen ProV1x because it spins less across the board for me including short game.  I've noticed that the Pro Plus also launches a little lower as well which is fine by me.  Now, if you're looking for a ball that launches high with low spin, nothing beats the left dash IMO.

So then the regular vice pro would launch higher than the plus, correct?

Yes, I’ve played the Vice Pro and it definitely has a higher peak height and performs very similar to the V1X but has a softer feel.

I would agree that for me the Pro Plus does launch slightly lower than the Pro - but not significantly.

The launch difference between the Vice Pro vs. Pro Plus is less than the difference between the Pro V1 vs. ProV1x.

Hope that makes sense. The gap between the two Titleist balls is greater than the gap between the two Vice balls.

The biggest difference I notice between the Pro and Pro Plus is feel.  The Pro is noticeably softer, for me anyways.  Otherwise, flight, launch, distance, spin are close enough I might not be able to tell which ball I was hitting if it weren't for feel

There's not that big of a difference between the Pro and Pro plus as far as height. The plus seems a few yards longer off the tee for me, but nothing too crazy. Both balls are just as long as any Titleist I've played too.

I play with every ball mentioned so far. I get prov1/x boxes from friends and family during holidays, plus, I find tons of them in the usual areas after tournaments.

I buy Vice Pro/Pro Plus when they have their deals like what’s going on now.

I think the Vice Pro feels the softest compression of any of these 4 balls. I would say it’s pretty close to a Chrome Soft in feel. Then the Prov1 is the next softest of course. I see little difference between the pv1x and the Pro Plus as far as feel.

My game matches up better with the harder balls but I prefer the feel of the Pro the most. I do think it may be the shortest of the four balls for me. It’s not a huge difference, but I can get a good bit more from the two harder balls.

Around the greens, I prefer the harder balls as well. I seem to have better stopping power (more spin). I do struggle with putting soft feeling balls so I much prefer the two firmer variations.

Off of irons, the Vice Pro is only rivaled by the Chrome Soft so it’s a joy to pure one. The harder balls still feel good, but not as nice.

Bottom line, if I’m looking to score low, it’s usually the Pro Plus because I can see the lime color very well. My second choice is the prov1x. To me these two are the same ball. I see little difference other than the Prov1x being a more durable. I can get two rounds from a ProV1x, where a Pro Plus is pretty cut up after 18. I do tend to be steep with wedges and can cut a ball quickly.

If I’m playing for fun, my choice is the Pro. I play Mizuno 221s so feel is important to me. I can carve one of those up pretty bad after 18 holes, but I’m only paying $2 for a ball so it’s not a big deal.

I didn’t mention the Prov1 much, but it’s the ball I judge all balls against for a reference point. It feels a little firmer than the VP and seems longer off the tee, but not nearly as long as the two harder options.
