Path and face to path extremes

It's more repeatability rather than anything else and having the ability to hit a ball straight(ish) when needed if your typical shot shape is a big curve.

There are many outliers but anything under 5 is fine

The problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts.

Monte, what do you think about Masahiro Kawamura's swing?  He's across the line at the top and looks extremely OTT on the way down, yet his divots look to be pointing relatively straight..........

I do not believe it’s over the top, I haven’t seen his numbers.

Here is the way I feel about elite players swings.

1.  I like every single one of them because they have elite functional ability.  In a few I see mismatched parts and believe they could be better with a small change.

2.  The average golfer can discern less than nothing from the swing of an individual.  The media and golfing public want to go all in on the anomaly of the latest emerging star.  Rory’s hip stall, DJ’s wrist, Wolfe’s takeaway.  Trying to emulate what one player made work is a fool’s errand.  You want to try and emulate what 147 out of 150 do.

I suppose we’re talking swing path as revealed by some piece of technology, but relative to…what?  Some idealized target line (perhaps orthogonal to how the machine is set up)?  Some idealized alignment of the body?  What part of the body?

like a lot less worrying about this sort of thing seems a backwards way of learning, unless possibly for the refinement of a true expert swing.

Club path relative to target line.

A huge value for mid to high handicaps.  For decades the pull hooker was told and thought he was over the top.  An LM tells him he’s way too far from the inside.  This is huge.

And what I've seen in just a few weeks is that my right miss isn't from a path issue...100% face that gets too open in transition.
