The Hero World Challenge 2022 (*** NO LIV DISCUSSIONS ***)

After what has seemed like weeks, if not months, of ho hum events on the PGA Tour and at a time when the focus should be on the World Cup, NFL and getting ready for Christmas the attention of Golf fans is going to be grabbed and kept by the return of one man and one man alone. Having not struck a ball in competition since The Open in July, Tiger Woods is BACK!! At his own event which is back for it's 22nd staging. As has been the case for the last half dozen years or so, the Bahamas and the Albany Course (designed by Ernie Els) is the host. Whilst we have a field limited in numbers, it nearly maxes out in terms of start power with six of the world top 10 set to tee it up but even with that quality in the field, all eyes will be on the lowest ranked player in the field. Having played only 9 competitive rounds the entire year and having looked anything but fit and healthy in any of those rounds, the only cause for optimism that some of the old Tiger might still be in there is that after another 5 months of rehab he might be closer to whatever his peak physical condition is going to be. Tiger sightings aside, with the likes of JT, Jon Rahm, Scottie Scheffler and others, competition near the top of the leaderboard should keep us going until Tiger tees it up next...next week and then the week after!!

In.

Of course. What a stupid opening line.

Can’t wait.

There, that’s better!

Love your comment above MR A. @aenemated

Thanks as always @MattyO1984  Feels like the real season is getting closer.

I find myself actually pulling for Tiger. WTF, did I hit my head while sleeping?

  • GwrxMod changed the title to The Hero World Challenge 2022 (*** NO LIV DISCUSSIONS ***)

I'm bummed Tiger didn't use this event as an opportunity for a mixed event.  It's already a tiny field, usually the top 20 players, invitation only. Why not the top 20 from the PGAT and LPGA.  It's not much more than a hit and giggle event in good weather at a great location, that happens to get awarded OWGR points.   Nelly, Lydia, Minjee, Lexi, Brooke etc.

Here we go again... another year where my Hero (pun intended) gets our hopes up, turns up, looks great, hits his first tee shot into the trees, grimaces and then proceeds to take the rest of the year off only for him to make his comeback at the Masters. He's been my idol on the course for over 2 decades but this has to stop 😞 my emotions can't take it.  Its a roundabout.

I get  your point and agree, its a miracle that he can actually play. But between this, the Match, and the PNC, would he committ to all three in a row if he didn't feel good?

I feel the same way but he's the GOAT and he's earned his way of retiring into the sunset whether we agree with it or not.....

Somehow, we'll endure the pain.....LOL!

I had this in both feet about 8 years ago.  Got operated on by the same doctor as Pujols here in STL area.  IT's no joke, man it can hurt like a SOB.  But it's easily repaired these days and with Blood spinning techniques healing time is less than a month.

Tiger?

He prolly crashed his shopping cart at the liquor store and a giant jug of Tito’s fell on his toe.

🤣

I don’t know, just sounds like a random and all encompassing ailment that could explain future set backs all year.

Hope it’s straight forward and he heals up and gets out there. But seems like a disaster to me and not counting on him playing much this year
