Ping G425 & G430 Max pics

Just thought Id share some comparison pics of the two heads.  Both are similar although the G430 face is noticeably less deep than the 425.

Very interesting, thanks for sharing this comparison. Anybody have insight into what looks like a pretty significant change in face depth? Aerodynamics maybe? 

 

@kekoa I'm sorry to push for more info, but any chance you also have the weights of these heads (assuming they're both stock, no weight changes or hot melt or whatever)? And if you've hit them both, any feedback on how the performance has changed beyond the sound differences?

Did you weigh the head?  Mine came in at 202 grams. Just looking for a comparison.

I’ve never loved the shape of the Max heads, and even less now with the 430. The direction of shallower/longer faces is odd.

I haven't had the chance to hit the G430 yet, but hope to this weekend.  Honestly, I really like the 425 so i'm not sure why I bought the 430 except to tinker a bit.  Only thing I'm really looking for on the 430 is hopefully a better sound. I'm not expecting to see any groundbreaking gains although that would be nice.   I will report back asap.

 

FWIW, I play to a 3.8, but driving is the worst part of my game and the Ping drivers have been most consistent for me especially in the forgiveness area.   Although 460CC, the head just looks huge behind the ball.  The max line is by no means the longest driver on the market, but I'm willing to give up some yardage to be in the fairway.
