Hard to say as I haven't tried a lot of different apparel yet. I've enjoyed my Adidas shoes (Primeblues and a pair of old, used Tour 360s). I also have a 1/4 zip from Lee that I love, comes with a chest pocket (essential imo).

Water-proofing, for sure. Ideally I want great materials as well, but have to compromise when searching for low-cost options.
