It's been a while now.  He was going back n forth with 755's, 718 CB and 718 AP2's, I think he won with a set of 718 AP2's back in 2020 then they were out of the bag the next week.  The Callaway's popped in the bag and have been around ever since.

Cool, looks to me like a Tour Velvet with yellow accents and an under grip pattern.  I haven't seen these for sale before.  GP website says "currently out of stock".

It’s an old school grip that they re-released in 2018 or 2019 then out of stock in 2020 with a bunch of others. Id be shocked if they ever are available again.

True, but that $50 putter was used by the only guy Tiger ever took putting tips from other than his dad.  Stricker led the PGA in strokes gained putting by a ridiculous amount, most years.  Unfortunately for him, he was always in the lower third of the pack off the tee.  Still managed to win 8 times on the PGAT after age 40.  

 

Always enjoyed watching him dissect a golf course and manage his way around it.

I remember hearing a story a few years ago.  Stricker was on the practice green trying other putters.  I can't remember if it was a club rep or his coach, but they asked why was he even thinking about it.  He said for some reason he was no longer making as many putts or as consistent with his trusty as before.  The rep/coach watched him and then asked to see his putter.  Turns out he actually wore the sweet spot to where it was cupped.  Odyssey put a new insert in and he was back to his old self.  How many balls do you have to roll to do that?  That says so much about why it is as good as he is.  Heck most GolfWRXers barely get the plastic off before opting for a new stick (myself included).

Except for a few subtle hints (triple diamond driver, x flex shafts and pro irons), this bag looks like any bag sitting on a rack at the bag drop. Very cool to see that it's not just the equipment that makes these guys so good. Steve Stricker is a always a gem to watch and his daughter will be the next great Stricker to make a name for herself.

Those apex dot irons are pretty special.  Some of the softest irons I ever played.  The mid irons are some of the best looking I’ve seen in a long time.  Love that putter grip as well.  Love seeing his bag.  It’s weird seeing him without Titleist, but its still a fantastic set up.

I just wish that exact putter grip was still available. Cut one off a club a year or so ago and have been kicking myself ever since.

Even older. It's a conforming-grooved 200 Series with a CC/SM4 stamp.

I hoarded some a couple of years ago. I think I'm down to ten left. I have them on my irons and driver at the moment.

He's also an unassuming guy that your fairly average player could walk right by and not even realize he is one of the best players of the last 15 years.  Probably get paired up with him and after 4 beers in the first 6-7 holes they realize they are 10 shots down and the guy hasn't missed a fairway or missed a putt inside of 10 feet yet.  Then they say "you give lessons?  My buddy thinks I need a stiff shaft, this one feels too soft and causes me to slice" as they do a few violently over the top swings with no body rotation leaving the face open.   Strick says he has to go after 9 and 1000 yard stares it on the way home.

Those guys don’t like to make many changes especially in their iron shaft. Look at Rocco Mediate’s WITB, he’s 60 and gaming DG Mid X100 iron shafts….he just switched to the Mid X100 this year.

Just seems like too stiff for both of them for feel and workability. I swing around the same speed as Stricker 112-114 with a similar release but feeling like X is just too much effort especially in fairways and hybrids. Of course I don't play everyday and a have a PGA resume 🙂
