In these latest photos of Charlie and on TV this year it is easy to see his resemblance to his Mom, especially the shape of his face and through the eyes. His powerful golf swing looks like Dad but he is very much a blend of his parents in looks.

My wife said the same thing.  I think he looks more like his mom, lol.

He's only 13.  He still has time to grow.  My god brother had his second growth spurt at 19 and went from 5'8 to 6'1.

Yeah, you just never know with boys. Later growth spurts are very common. Some boys grow til their 20 or so. Charlie has a very short paternal grandmother, but what he has going for him is Elin is 5-11 and Tiger is 6-1.

I'm know this kid will grow. This kid isn't the second coming like everybody is making him out to be, he may get there, he may be a good player. Right now he is a middle of the pack 13 getting ready to be 14 year old.

All the Ball speeds they were posting during the broadcasts were BS, there wasn't a trackman or any other distance device on the course. It makes for good tv, but those ball speeds just weren't real.

Are you sure about that or is that just speculation? Because i've been curious of that myself when things don't seem to lineup, however Trackman (Trackmen? mans? 😆) can be at the back of the tee or behind the camera far enough to basically look like they are never there. Plus, where would the numbers come from otherwise? You would literally need someone that either knows every player's average swing speed with each club so they could believably "fake" a number, and with only the live broadcast delay to do so, or someone the prepares numbers beforehand to basically execute like a script over the top of whatever shot. That means human error, which would lead to the occasional totally bonkers numbers. The numbers have to come from *somewhere* is my point, and for the time and money it would take to make that happen manually i'm pretty sure they'd just buy a f'n Trackman, lol. Maybe i'm missing something though.

I believe that most Tour events use ShotLink and it is based on Trackman data.

My buddy was there and he told me that there were not any trackman's or anything like that on site. You normally will see them set up on tee boxes, but none were in use.  All the tee boxes were spread out, so that tech. just wouldn't work. Now they could have used shot link, but I don't give that data very much credit, it's just not that accurate on ballspeed data.

Mike Thomas also coaches my buddies kid, who just turned 12, I'm told he is longer than Charlie, so if Mike isn't lying, then Charlie isn't nearly as long as the press will have you think.

A less accurate/optimum measuring device would be the easiest explanation then, yeah. Charlie was playing on a gimped left side though (like father like son lol) so I wouldn't take much from his numbers last week.

As an OG Sneakerhead I still cannot Fathom how Nike hasn't got him into a pair of say Older TW's w some new tech! The SP7, 7.5's or 8's or those classic foot joy looking ones that came early in the lineup 01-03 with the big air sole.

Is Nike golf dying before our eyes?
