Outsmarted myself again...so hard to pass up a "deal"

Yesterday I played a muni that's about thirty minutes away from home. While waiting in line to pay I noticed a sign beside their FootJoy rack:

 

"All golf shoes 25% off PLUS today's round is FREE with shoe purchase." 

 

I found some FootJoy Stratus in my size marked $219.99 and did some quick math in my head. "Hmm...25% off is about $160 and I'll save $48 on my golf." I didn't care that the only pair in my size was white and I already have a pair of white golf shoes besides the gray ones I had on my feet. I paid a total of about $175 for the shoes after tax and my golf was "free." I was chuffed. 

 

When I got online this morning I decided to search up these shoes for reviews. I wasn't familiar with this line but I assumed that any FootJoys at that price point would make me happy. The first Google hit was the FootJoy site with a link to this page: 

 

 

Same shoe, any color I want, for $99 plus tax and shipping!

 

My immediate thought was to return the shoes and pay for my golf, but A) the course is 30 minutes away and B) the pricing wasn't really so unfair, all things considered. It was pretty much exactly the same as having bought the shoes from FootJoy.com and paid for my golf out of pocket. 

The only thing I might have done differently is choose another color. I'm going to keep these instead as a reminder not to be so quick to chase a "deal!"

You could call the golf course, and, attempt to get a price adjustment over the phone.

I can’t pass up great deals either. Sometimes a better deal comes along later, and I just tell myself “it is what it is, just bad timing “.
