Playing for my Club in 2023

In 2023 we are going to enter a second team into the East Kent golf league and I'm in it. Very excited about it. It's us and 5 other teams. We have home and away matches against each club with one scratch pair and 4 handicap pairs. I'm guessing it is better ball. It's been a long time since I've played team golf. Who else is doing team stuff in 2023?

Happy New Year from a very wet Carlisle. Sad to day our County Wide league has imploded due to some clubs not wanting to travel over 30 miles to a game and a lack of low hcp golfers who are interested in representing their club. Last year out club entered three teams of four. A Team plus hcp county level. B Team as low as is available. C Team 4-6 hcps and juniors. Format was head to head match play off scratch. Inter club county comps were either foursomes or three a side stroke play. I hope some form of a league goes ahead as it great makes new friends and play other tracks for free.

That's a shame, it's equally wet down here.

 

We've had the A team in this league for quite a while. It must be a well attended league as we the B team are in division 3. I have a feeling I'm one of the higher handicappers but am on a downward trajectory so I guess a sound pick. The other thing is there are a LOT of golf courses round here.

I hope it dries up soon. Down to play tomorrow but borderline at present.

I’ve played senior interclub for a good while. It’s a lot of fun. We get to play different courses, and all the guys we have played against have all been good guys. I’m coming off shoulder surgery, so I probably won’t play this year, but it’s been very enjoyable in the past.

I've not played for ages. It was always my plan to stop in winter but my Dad died in September and I think I played twice since then. I might play in a trophy comp next Sunday but really not serious until March/April.
