Collin Morikawa testing the new TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus driver and 3 wood – 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions

Two things I see.  First, the shape is different.  Maybe a touch longer heel to toe.  Little more compact front to back.  Second, I always had this feeling that the OG Stealth+ 3w sat a bit closed.  Or at least my brain was not capable of holding it square lol.  This immediately looks more neutral to me.

Yes, I am a head case.  But, this is what I mean.

I love my OG s+ 3wd but will say it always looked like it sat closed at address. It’s 100% not bc I had it spec’d. it’s slightly open per the numbers but no matter what I feel like it’s toe’d in. I blamed it on the gloss/matte coloring and in the area where you drew a blue line is off. After seeing the new 3wd I will def be replacing the s+ with the newer one.

and yes I realize you can’t compare photos with the angles etc but it’s not unheard of for some clubs to be more closed/open looking at address. We have all seen it.

I wonder how heavy the front weight will be in the non plus Stealth2.  Also, what the stock weight configuration will be in both heads.  Would be nice if we could order specific weights at the time of purchase.

Last summer you could pick the weight included with the Stealth Plus FW at the time of order. Fingers crossed we'll eventually see that across all the woods in the line.

Will be fun cleaning dirt, sand, grass, leaves, tees and small rodents out of that fairway weight/cavity

That is the 1st thing I though when I saw it! if you play on wet ground you will 100% get grass and dirt going in there, even if it is behind the contact point of the ground. Grass and dirt manages to find its way into the hosel screw hole on my driver occasionally, especially on a really wet and muddy day so surely it will find its way in to the gaps on this back weight here... more so for those who use the fairways from the deck. Just my thoughts anyways, nothing performance related.

I like the look of the new Stealth 2 a lot with the sliding weight and would have liked to seen that in the 3 wood.  I would love a TM 3 wood that did not hook!  It would be great to throw the weight on the toe on a 3 wood.

I will hit both of these because as I like to try new things.

My first thought was "that's a lot of weight to be able to move, I want to see how different from vs rear weighting performance is"

Should have been named SIM3 Red Edition, starting at $799.

I am noticing how the stealth 1 resembles the SIM 1 now more with this new Stealth 2 obviously looking very similar to the SIM 2. It's like they break through with technology with the first iteration, and hold back the looks until the second.

I probably would use some hi-temp epoxy spray and go BLACK on both weights.

My OG Stealth has been collecting dust as I went back to OG SIM Max.  Hoping the Stealth + 2 gets some good reviews as I always like shiny new things 😁

OG Sim Max is the balls

- Something that continues to go long off the tee in the fairway
- Something that is a fairway finder when needed and long
- Something that high, consistent and helps with par 5’s
-  Something to help with long par3’s and short par 4’s

-  Something metal, lots of them and go the gaps I need
- Something metal, 2x of them and helps me 120y and in
- Putters - limited rotation because I cannot afford misses

Golf is what you make of it.  Play grateful and accepting. We are all lucky to have it.

Rather than expecting lets all try and appreciate instead.
Treat people the way you want to be treated

That's a ton of weight to move around. I have the Rogue st ls and I swapped the 6g front weight with a 3g weight and slapped lewd tape on the rear of the head. Just that little bit of play made a slight difference. So 50g is going to be significant.

Can we get a picture of this lewd tape ?😂

Yeah. Do you remember the movie "Waiting"? Batwing? That's what that tape helps solidify.

😂Man. Luis Guzman became one of my favorite actors after that movie.  He’s a guy you can’t believe gets paid to be in movies. Lol. Haven’t watched it in a while now.

Yep, I think this one had a heavier weight...18g I think.

But the 50g in the TM is major.

I’ll stick up for you on this one haha.  My stealth+ 3w was probably the longest 3w I’ve ever hit. Wanted a 2nd tee option. But all I could do was hit huge sweeping hooks with it. To me the face always looked closed. Shouldn’t be the case but my brain just could not see it any other way.

Since it was a ball speed monster, when it went left it went really long and left. Typically OB or in the trees. Ended up going back to a mavrik sz to finish the season. Hoping for a better fit with the stealth 2 +.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it - but the fairways remind me of the Nike VRS Covert fairways - when Nike were making cavities in the fairways and drivers.  The only thing Nike didn’t do was have that movable weight.
