Upscale Apparel brands

Recommended Posts

Curious if anyone has any particular favourite upscale apparel brands. Along the lines of Peter Millar, Holderness and Bourne, Greyson, etc. Obviously an upscale brand will have a premium price tag, but would like to shop around and see if any upscale brand just seems to offer better prices than other similar brands.

All of the top brands that you mentioned are quality from my experience. I prefer Peter Millar and Greyson versus some of the others based on fit primarily. Peter Millar has 50% off on their website currently with a ton of options in regard to sizes and color. Great way to try out some stuff at a more reasonable price.

It might be better for us to know kind of what you’re looking for as well. I love Peter Milar and Greyson but they fit completely different. Greyson also is a little baggy for me in a lot of pullover/hoodie style clothes. Peter Milar to me fits a little tighter in pants but baggy in shirts. It’s all relative but you can’t go wrong with either. I also enjoy RLX as well.

Lulu is great. I’m not a huge fan of the whole athle-leisure trend in general, but their polo shirts and pants are so comfortable and nicely understated — no big logos, etc. Good quality stuff that can go from office to course without screaming “hey everyone look at me I am a golfer!!”

Faherty is another maker that I like. Their shorts are great.

For dress slacks I love Hertling, but I’m not wearing wool slacks on the course, I’d destroy them.

Adaptive Golf.....look out for the one-armed man:

H&B and Peter Millar are my favorites.  Interestingly, wear a large in H&B and Medium in PM.

Same with me. L in H&B and M in PM. I prefer the way the PM fits me because the sleeves are a little shorter and the body slightly more form fitting. However I do like the H&B collar. I hope to get more of both this season. I used to be RLX but I think their fit has changed over the last few years (Large has gotten bigger, baggier)

H&b collar might be the best in the game

Some "upscale brands" I've come across as a bigger dude.

PM still a little fat for them but shirts are a nice fit across the back and shoulders, gotta get the belly down a bit but nice cut and material. Shorts are probably not for me or someone with much more muscular legs.

Fairway & Greene, cut isn't as nice a PM at least for me but still quality and some are made in USA for those that care about that. Haven't tried their pants or shorts.

Black Quail, kind of my go to brand, probably best collar I think, material is solid, very generous cut definitely longer torso and arms for my lanky fellas. Haven't tried their pants or shorts.

Bonobos, I know Wal-Mart brand but still nice stuff haven't bought anything recently but will see again, all the shirts I have are nice and often get complimented when I wear them.

Good call out on Black Quail. They seem to fly a little bit under the radar. I'd be interested to hear how their pullovers and pants are.

I have one polo from them and I think it's comparable to a lot of other brands. I also like that it's a bit longer in length which is much, much better for keeping it tucked on the course.

Plus, it seems like they are always on sale. I think I got mine for $25.

Yup I always grab mine on sale so for the price very good and yeah the length is nice to tuck in where it's comfortable and never coming undone on the course.

The pants I'm too big for at the moment but maybe by summer I should fit into a pair so will look for a sale then, the pull overs never seem to be on sale.

Saks of 5th carries Peter Millar, Hugo Boss, JL, Greyson. You can find Greyson at Marshall's also.

Nordstrom carries PM and has sales on some items which is when I grab mine.
