Yea quite the change from his own RF Blades to the Tours…and that’s not a knock on the Tours, just a complete change in philosophy from what he’s gaming.

 

Serious question, has anyone made that big of a switch for a full set? Did someone go from Ping Eye2s to blades, for example?

I wasn't too long after he had them in the bag, he did an interview saying how much cavity back irons was helping him.  I agree it does put them in a tough spot.  Pretty bad naming a club after a player and he doesn't even play them.

Say what you want about the putter. It’s one of the best putters to use for stability and alignment. Seems like Ricky’s just trying to dumb things down a little. Personally, the versa jailbird is one of my favorite putters.

Data golf rankings for Rickie fowler - red circle is when he switched from Pro V1 to TP5, hasn't sniffed the top 50 since. Wonder when he will see the light and switch back?

With how his revisions went with his irons, the putter guys weren't taking any chances...  Fitter: "hey Rick, favorite McDonald's character?" Ricky: "the hamburglar!"  Fitter: "say no more!"

He does. The stability of his putter heIps him balance on his size 7’s. Personally, I would rather lose 5 strokes around and game a putter that looks decent and has bag swag.

This was also the time he left Butch and started dramatic swing changes with Tillery.  Ball or new swing?  I'll go with the latter.  His swing video from a week or two looks great so hopefully he is on the right track now

The putter would be decent if he didn't have that busy paint job. I would not be able to focus and have a solid stroke with that. This is what I think of when I see that. My eyes would be all over the place.

He’s definitely searching.  Most of these guys go through peaks and valleys at some point.  Would love to see him contending again.  He’s great for the game!
