Bought the g400 max on whim, went through a couple of shafts and settled on a Fuji Tour Spec Atmos blue, fairway finder. Then bought a Cobra XB, sold it (swinging horribly) bought it again, reshafted it still didnt hold a candle to the ping, thats in my sons bag now. Looking to get a callaway rogue st max but the prices really havent come down so I'll wait. Not sure why but...

I picked up Rogue ST Max on Callaway Pre-owned this week for $299.  I figured if I can get half of that for my Gen 5 driver, then it'll be worth it.

In a couple of range sessions, it's given me the same 'fire and forget' vibes I had with the G400 Max in 2 range session.  I'm playing a round with it in the morning.

We'll see....

The G400 Max was my favorite driver of all time....  I sold it and bought a G425 Max but I think the fitting - shaft went wrong and I hated it so I moved to a Titleist TSI3

and that is working well.  That said the G400 is fantastic.

The G400 Max lofted down to 7.5 was a pretty cool club. The sound though… PXG Gen 4 X is what I want from a driver. It might be the most muted modern driver.

It will not go away. The sound of power is all there. I really think it is the Tom Brady of drivers! Change shafts and new driver.

Not yet; but went for a fitting today and the 430 Max is probably going to find a home in the bag....it was nice.

I just bought one last week on eBay. I’ve been looking to replace the one I got rid of for a while but the prices were obnoxiously high. Saw one in really good condition for $150 and got it. Haven’t been able to use it yet due to weather but I’m hopeful it’s as good as I remember it being.

When a Driver is 5 years old and still goes used for $250-300 you know its special.

Ive been thinking about trying the G430  just to upgrade to newer tech, but Im hesitant. Getting rid of something that I know works to chase 5-10 more yards of distance seems silly.

It's incredible how well these drivers have held their value. Truly shows how good they are.

I've been waiting for the used market to drop on these drivers, but it just hasn't happened.

I bought both the G400 Max and the G400 when they came out. The G400 was a better fit for me, still in the bag but the G430 will get range time soon.

Here's how good the Max is, my son (scratch player) has never played anything but Titleist drivers. I had to chide and brow beat him into even trying the 400 Max driver. Paired it with a Aldila Extorsion shaft, straight up rocket launcher and still in his bag.

I replaced my g400 max 3 years ago with a Sim Max and haven’t looked back. As good as my Ping was, the TM is better. Longer, and just as good or maybe even better dispersion and much better avoiding the left miss.

I made the mistake of test driving the 430 SFT the numbers were all better than my 400 max. Now I have only been able to hit it inside as it is 5 degrees and a lot of snow in Michigan. Going to Grand national in Opelika in two weeks then I will see how it does outside.

G430 LST will be taking it's place on sound alone.  I have recently paired the 400 Max with a Tensei Raw White and it's a good combo but I want something that sounds better.  I can't really stand it anymore... LOL

That wasn't a mistake....

The SFT model can even help low cap players. Report back to us on your Bama trip and the 430.

I was happily playing the non-Max G400 until I recently bought a Titleist 975J and hit it a few times. I’m personally out of love with massive modern drivers and sold the G400 almost immediately. It’s almost as long on center strikes, looks better at address (and the G400 is a good looking modern driver), sounds way better than anything out now, and mis hits get on the ground faster. But yes the G400 family is a modern classic.

I gamed the Rogue ST MAX LS last season. Best club in my bag. Drove the ball better than ever. Bought a used G400 Max and sold the Callaway. Added a used Ping Tour shaft.

I like everything about it but, the looks are well, Ping. I'm having a TSR fantasy cause I like the look of the TSR2 but I have never had a Titleist driver. Realistically , for me at 100mph SS, a brand new driver model is not a game changer, fit or no fit.

Still played the G400 Max a good bit last year. Put it back in the bag after less than stellar spells with the G410, G425, G425 SFT, Rogue ST Max, etc.  Loved the G400 Max back in the bag, but wasn’t optimized with the Ping shafts I have around.

Ended up trying out the Cobra RadSpeed XB with stock Smoke Blue RDX, and that has given me the forgiveness of the G400 Max, but with more consistency.  I think largely a shaft thing, and if I had a HZRDUS Smoke Blue or Black around with a G400 tip, I’d possibly be back in the G400 Max at any point.

While I really disliked the G425 drivers, there are obviously other drivers out there that can give the G400 Max a run for its money. But it is, and always will be, a classic. I’ve learned my lesson, and will not get rid of my G400 Max heads (got on better with the 9* G400 Max, but also have a 10.5* head around).

Just picked one up to finally see what all the hype is about! Currently playing the '16 M2 that you'll have to pry from my cold, dead hands.

G400 Max may not be as hot, but should be significantly more forgiving.  YMMV.  Come back and post your thoughts.

Yes, I skipped the 410 but bagged the 425 and now the 430.  Both are better.

Have you noticed much difference between the 425 and 430, other than the sound and graphics?

Have not replaced it. Replaced the stock Alta CB Stiff with a Ping Tour Stiff. Better dispersion, picked up a few yards.  Haven't found anything else that performs as well.

Did the same, but switch back to the Alta shaft during the colder months in New England as it's a little more active.  Mostly use the Tour shaft though, it's a pretty great shaft.  See no reason to switch drivers, although the new G430 is interesting, as I continue to hit it long and straight and its forgiveness it really terrific.
