I wouldn't be upset if they saved it for Max Homa because he seemed to embrace it.....love that guy's attitude.

He's the coolest dude on tour. By far. A Freddie Couples for this generation. Just a COOL guy you wanna root for. 

 

It's like his struggles on tour early in his career humbled him a bit and he's just stoked and surprised at how his game has come around to compete with the big boys. He doesn't live with the expectations of, say, Rahmbo or JT or YJS or even like freakin Tony Finau ... but he's consistently performing to be up there.

 

If he can pick off a major this year or the next ... he'll be the biggest name in golf. And I bet he knows that.

The thing was Max was pretty neat. Does seem more likely than not, though, that it hurt his play a bit. Also a fair question whether this is an inherently entertaining idea, or rather, is Max an inherently entertaining individual. Not sure how many, if any, other players would be as much fun as Max.

Don´t know if it works in English but to paraphrase a Scandinavian proverb "the cream has risen to the top".  Great leaderbord going into the final round. With a non-celeb leading the field and a bunch of hungry wolves just behind. A pity I´m to greedy to see it.

The camerawork has really improved. Immelman wasn’t bad and I’m interested to see how he settles into his role. Great leaderboard and I’m looking forward to a primetime finish.

Yeah, would rather watch those who are making a little run and shooting some of the better scores for that day than being forced to watch someone, constantly, in the final group shoot 76.

Everybody here seems to love Max Homeboy. I think the mic'ed up bit was interesting but haven't we seen something similar before? Maybe not with the earpiece to let the entire crew communicate with him, but I seem to recall conversations with pros while walking to their shot, etc.

 

Amanda seemed to have the power to calm the savage beast that is Jon Rahm during her sit-down with him post-round. He was surprisingly chatty and charming, unlike his usual post-round interviews.

What's wrong with Homa?  Seems like a genuine good guy.  The Euro Tour has really nice folks carrying a mic and getting comments on occasion during rounds, but never seen a pro on the PGA Tour live and engaged like that ever - and it was okay but I can't imagine it gaining much traction overall for guys trying to focus on rounds (and maybe some guys would play better jabbering with the TV folks - probably need a rules interpretation if it relaxes them and helps them play better, like music, haha).  

 

Seems like a gimmick, and of course Homa hit his second in a bad spot.

 

Rahm isn't dumb, he's not giving Amanda any "adios" vibe but he's usually a pretty interesting and coherent interview, nothing wrong with being intense.

Ryder's approach into 17 from the rough, he, for sure, tapped the actual ball a couple of times with his iron before he hit it. Didn't improve anything from what I saw, but he definitely made contact with the ball multiple times before he swung.

Definitely not dumb, just to hear his english,  when he started  college he had the Manuel in Faulty Towers english and came out as fluent as I have heard  few non anglicans. His views are usually sound, and he comes across  as affable. One can or cannot like his heat on  the golf course,  I like it,  he fist pumps as he complains. And he has cooled down compared to when he came on tour.

I'm always entertained by the nonsense - as little as a couple years ago all sorts of criticism for his fire, now he's the man.  

 

Whether he's "the" man, he's definitely his own man and seems to have a good sense of where he is headed and sound motivations.  Good place to be.

 

I've always liked him as well, could care less if golfers wear their hearts on their sleeves.
