Scotty Cameron Super Select Putters for March 2023

Just got the email about the new putters. Have a brand-new Newport 2 Special Select sitting in the package I just bought. Outside of the new + models, I don't know that there is much a of change with the milling and neck changes. I wonder how much you can really improve the feel with milling changes. Should I return the Special Select and wait for this one or game the current model.

A little disappointed with the lineup. I was hoping for a single bend fastback, not a fan of the 1.5 and was also hoping maybe a little different design on the golo, something similar to Charlie Hoffman's setup. The new grip does look good though.

Pretty much a disappointment considering the only thing new is the grip and head cover.  I have zero interest in the Plus wider putter head   But at least I don’t want to buy a new putter now.

Super Select sounds so Walmart - need to do better marketing team.

I'll still be interested to roll the 2+ next to the Newport 2 and Squareback.  Any word on price?

The lack of red dots is really nice. I really, really wish they'd offer some different alignment features, though.

Agreed MM, I recently picked up a Circa 62 with the alignment dot and really like it.  I know opinions are mixed regarding regarding the dot but I don't sense many people love the flange line

Given he's such a great marketer, somewhat surprised about these; they look virtually identical to the last model. Similar to the TSI3 to TSR3, not sure why anyone would upgrade to these. At least with the TSR3 i can fool myself into thinking i might get 5 extra yards. With these putters, what can i tell myself that would justify such a purchase?

If you still get suckered by his marketing videos, then it's your fault. 

He literally puts in minimal effort in the design and spends all his efforts into making some BS marketing video and cookie cutter explanations.

Disappointing lineup. Not much difference from the previous generation and still flange line only!

I really wish Scotty would go back to the "flow neck" style. Not a fan of the slant neck.

Plus side - no insert, great shapes

 

Down side - bombs, huge font, no script Titleist, milling too deep, no dark finish

 

Sadly I will pass on this one.  Needed a cleaner, more industrial look like the classic Scotties that I like.

Next run will be Super Special Select, if they can fit all the words on the bottom.

Once again, nothing original or really improved and innovative fro Cameron.

I quite like these, prefer the unpainted bombs compared to the last model. I am still missing a Newport two from my collection since I sold mine years ago, so could be tempted.

As a lefty I'm thrilled to see the Newport 2.5+ available for us! I don't need a new putter but will definitely pick up one of these to try.

I feel the same way. Everyone is hating on the release and us lefties are like holy crap we got a slant neck!!

Dual-step face milling is something I figured out on literally the first putter I made - also takes like 2 seconds to do. Just a lot of rendering fluff on this one.

Oh my word, what is it coming to?!? he literally has ran out of ideas. Still a major fan, and have a custom newport but these latest releases in the past few years are just comical.

Amazing to see the SC fans turn! The putters have been the same, uninspired shapes, designs, and finishes for years.
