If you still get suckered by his marketing videos, then it's your fault.

He literally puts in minimal effort in the design and spends all his efforts into making some BS marketing video and cookie cutter explanations.

How much do you think he spends making his 20 sec videos and taking a few photos for his website for these “new” releases?

The dude spends more on Starbucks than he does on marketing and even less on making anything interesting or new. But his fanboys still defend him and clamour over him.

Cameron collecting is really a cult.

I bought a Special Select Del Mar to give it a try. It was the first Scotty  Cameron series in years that looked attractive to me.   I liked the way it felt so much I bought an exact backup (except I did my own paintfill the second time).   I will use the putter because I like it and it feels incredible..not as clicky as other milled putters I tried, and not as soft as a lot of insert putters.   I have an Odyssey ProType ix 9Ht as a backup  (I have a backup to that one also but am selling it).  That said, I don't think much of the Scotty Cameron company in general.  He produces "no technology" putters.  His materials are not special, even GSS can be had elsewhere.  It is not some Cameron special sauce.

I do like the empty cherry bombs better than the red ones.  But that is because I do not like the color red.  His explanation for leaving them blank on the Super select is stupid. He copies designs and is generally uninspired.  The price hike to $450 is insane but I am sure people will buy them.  In that sense, he is a smart businessman.  Do as little as possible and the masses will still buy.

I thought the previous line couldn’t be improved and I still think that with this release. Not a fan of the I beam neck and not interested in any of the plus models. I’ll be happily passing on all of these.

I hear ya, not a i-beam fan either. I'll roll em this spring but thinking the 2020 model NP2 is my next purchase.

This is the laziest release I've seen in a while. Almost laughable.

I mean they are pretty.

Anyone complaining had way too high of expectations, he rarely makes drastic changes year-to-year and the releases are always boring. But at least he doesn’t devalue previous Scotty generations

People seem down on the plus models, but I’m seeing a lot of guys on Tour putting the Masterful+ (aka the circle-t version of the Newport+) in play. Might be a good sign if it’s already being used. The Golo will be popular as well i suspect.

Idk what some of you guys were expecting. And don’t get my wrong, I’m not a fan of Scotty’s marketing tactics and what seems like catering to bots and/or scalpers. He’s clearly very interested in preserving the resale value of his Circle-t’s. Retail offerings will continue to be the same rinse and repeat, with maybe a new model added once in awhile - that being said, this release is decent when you take a look back at some older ones

And people seem to hate the new mid-milling (without even trying it) because it’s deeper than last years; but it looks pretty similar to PLD’s deep milling, Bettinardi’s bb series milling yet no one complained about those. In fact i’ve heard from multiple ppl that the retail PLD milling feels incredible. Toulon's deep diamond milling is also suppose to be great (much different design but still “deep” milling)

I kinda dump on Scotty...a lot. But I fully understand what he's doing, it's all marketing to get more putters sold. Even down to the cherry bombs in the cavity which many don't like but as Scotty has said before "You can recognize the 3 dots on TV" look at TaylorMade with the Red Spiders and Stealth faces, you know what those are instantly or easily find them if you're an average golfer.

But also a lot of what people seem to be asking don't sell or don't make money. I've seen people wish he made a 2.6 again, how many people play as CS putter? The black finish, well that's now an LE finish, different alignments same thing as the black finish. A lot of things are a "dear santa" wish list things that Scotty just won't do for retail anymore.

I will say usually my dislike is about the lefty options this is probably the best year for lefty options with 40% of the lineup being available in LH so maybe he'll grab more lefties, who knows.

Fair points.  I just thought he would give us a dot free cavity again.  That’s what everyone wants.  I mean he’s getting up there in age.  Thought he’d throw us one more bone.  Too bad as I would have bought one.

Also I would love to see a Titleist only line released with no Cameron branding.  Never gonna happen but I like the Titleist brand a little more than Cameron.

This Scotty…..really THIS! Light face milling, 350g, (not popular take, but flange line…or NOT) and a STEPPED shaft.

Definitely agree with your point about LH. As a lefty myself, this is probably the first time I’ll consider buying a scotty in my life. Now I just need to decide between the golo 6.5 and the 2.5+! That golo is gorgeous!

Good point on the marketing but which high profile tour player has a Scotty blade with three massive cavity holes on TV?  When I think of Scotty tour blade players my mind goes to Tiger, Spieth and Scheffler, none of whom will game a blade with three ugly cherry bombs in the cavity.  I’m not sure that argument holds water anymore.  The ugly three holes need to go.  It’s unfortunate because I was hoping he would put some effort into this release.

Hideki but yeah most seem to be going towards just a Cameron stamping in the cavity it seems but most regular golfers still know the 3 dots in the cavity.
