Who are the folks behind the new MacGregor irons? Any link to the old company besides the name?

Rare the remakes are ever good, but these Macgregor's have a nice look.  Be nice to see a past company make a comeback

It’s the company that owns or

has the USA rights to, Golf Outlets USA, Ram, Zebra and a few other names. Based in Henderson NV. I emailed about these but they have not responded which is unusual for them.

Also interested in additional info on those Passport Patches.  Been GOOGLING for an hour with no luck...

between this company (website - golfoutletsusa) and the TGIB / rockbottom golf folks, clear that they've bought the licensing rights to old companies brands that went belly up and after a certain # of years, the trademark expired and they were able to bring back the name. the macgregor hollow bodies are not on their website yet. however, they do look diff than the ram players distance irons (less offset) which is cool. i wonder what they try to sell them for, my guess is 599 since the ram ones list for 449. feels with all the "open designs" out there that either barath or jon wall covered in the last few months, thats how these outlet / component companies are doing this. the macgregors really do look sweet not to beat a deadhorse

Yes I agree.  I like using Stitch golf bags.  I let me kids decorate one with stickers.

And I have one with decals from some of my favorite  local Breweries.

I love the Macgregor's sign me up for a test run and pricing.. reminds me of the good days of the greats  ,Arnie ,Jack ,etc...  Love the design of these irons !!!!!! HIGHCLASS STYLE....

They offer the Rams as heads only, if they do that for the Mac’s I’m all in!

Ah the memories. I played the MacGregor MT Forged Blades (flatback, 1971 release) from 1974 to 1994. Appears the new MTs have design similarities to MT M89T from 1952.

the set of clubs I learned to play with! funny thing is it is only a picture but the new heads look twice the size as originals and that is a great thing. The originals really did look like butter knives, you could hit them flush in the center and almost miss the ball LOL. They do bring back great memories though since they were my dads first, thank you for posting the pic......mine were the set from the 50's

Nope. Golfsmith acquired MacGregor in 2009 and then Dick’s acquired all of Golfsmith’s IP when they filed bankruptcy in 2016 (along with Snake Eyes, Killer Bee and Lynx). Dick’s also acquired Tommy Armour, Ram/Zebra, and Teardrop from Sports Authority when they filed bankruptcy. It looks like DSG has been selling off or licensing some of these shelved brands recently.

My stepdad still uses a couple of his Ram Investor (lefty at that) he has had since they came out. I bought him a set of j15cb and he still uses those rams.
