With my Club Glove, I also removed all of my heads and put them in my carry-on (4h, 7w, 4w, D).  And I used iron covers and bubble wrap in the bag pockets. And I put almost all of my clubs in the center of the 3 dividers. I can't be the only one that paranoid, right?

I switched from the SKB to a Club Glove Last Bag Large Pro and a CG stiff arm.  If it is good enough for the pros it's good enough for me.  The SKB was just too much trying to get it into a van with three other bags and luggage. And then you have to store the thing.

Probably 20 trips now in the Club Glove.  Bag still looks brand new.  Zero issues with my sticks.  Plenty of room for a couple pair of shoes and toiletries if I'm doing a carry-on bag only.

As always, remove any and all removable heads - driver and anything else.

Driver shaft grip up in the bag.

Turn half of your irons upside down in the bag - grips up.  This helps move COG of the bag down low and makes it easier to move around the airport.

Towels around the rest of the heads at the top of the bag.

Yep.

Since purchase, not sure, at least 60 trips using (I think Collegiate) ClubGlove Burst Proof II, with Stiff-Arm to various parts of the world, not one problem.  Pretty amazing, considering how bags like these are treated by airport personnel.

What it does better is connecting to my carry-on bag and my backpack attaches, making all of them easy to pull/maneuver though airports and up/down curbs n stairs into rental car.  When I reach my destination, pull the clubs, bag folds up, and out of the way.

Echo all the suggestions provided above:

- durable soft bag (e.g Club Glove),

- a stiff arm (or suitable substitute, I actually use an old cutoff hockey stick with tennis balls on the end.  I've seen even stiff arm's get bent. Nothing's breaking that hockey stick.)

- Removing any removable club heads.

- And this is a game-changer: putting clubs in upside-down so all the weight is down low. For those who haven't tried this, it is simply amazing how much of a difference this makes in making the bag so much nicer to wheel around. Give it a try as it costs nothing to do.

I have been an avid Club Glove supporter until my recent experience.  Used a Last Bag for 20+ years traveling the globe and decided to pass it on to a junior golfer and get the Collegiate version of the Last Bag.  After 4 domestic trips (over approximately 1 year) it got a 1/2” tear in the middle if the fabric.  I take a lot of care when packing my clubs and follow many of the recommendations others have given…remove heads, iron covers, wrap irons in towels inside rain cover, legs oriented to the side, etc.

Reached out to Club Glove to see if there is a way to repair and they said there is not and it is not covered in any way by them.   Warranty only covers the plastic base, wheels, buckles, zippers, and seam issues.

I’ll be moving to the Sun Mountain Club Glider as hear good things about that one, especially how easy it is to roll.

CG offers a warranty upgrade on their products. the standard warranty does not cover punctures.

IIRC, there was a registration card on mine at time of purchase that offered an optional No Questions Asked 5 year warranty - back then it was a $49 upgrade.

found this data on the Club Glove site:

Why does Club Glove offer accident protection?
We have a Limited Lifetime Warranty, so why offer this protection? To protect you from unanticipated damage that may be caused by others handling your Club Glove gear or for other unexpected events, like an airline refueler accidently dumping jet fuel on your Club Glove luggage. (Yes, we have seen that before!) The Limited Lifetime Warranty only covers manufacturer’s defects. (Not Jet A spills)

What does it cover?
Pretty much anything that would render your gear non-functional or unusable. The Standard Limited Lifetime warranty only covers defects in manufacturing, whereas the accident protection covers any unintentional or accidental damage. Accidents that cause tears, rips, holes, broken zippers, popped rivets, plastic hardware failures, wheels, axels and bearings are all covered. Theft/ loss, intentional abuse, intentional misuse, normal wear & tear, and cosmetic damage is not covered.

... Club Glove ... got a 1/2” tear in the middle if the fabric.

As much of a fan I am of good soft bags (e.g. Club Glove), they are, after all, still just made from nylon fabric. A puncture is always possible.

Even though CG won't warranty repair this for you, there must be someone in your area who could sew on a patch for a very nominal fee. Or - if you're handy at all with a sewing machine (or even a hand sewing awl), this repair could be done very quickly and nearly for free.

Since you say the tear is only 1/2",  a piece of nylon webbing would make excellent patch material.

After the structural patch is done, if you don't like the battle scar, cover it with a decorative patch from your favorite school/sports team/golf course, etc...

SKB is what I use but be forewarned, those airline gorillas have managed to damage my SKB by throwing it on its wheel edge, cracked the case around one of the wheel section

However no damage to my clubs but it's a pain to drive down to OC to have it replaced

My lesson learnt is to always inspect the SKB right away after it comes out from the Large Luggage & file claim with airline immediately

Third time having my stand bags legs dented from airlines and ship sticks.

does club glove have a good way to protect the stand legs?? Or am I stuck going hard case?

so pissed right now

I've used pvc pipe to protect stand legs. Make sure you get a size large enough to go over the feet at the end of the legs.

My Player III has a strap to hold the legs in place, and when in the Club Glove, the lower ~18" is behind the hard plastic bottom shell that the wheels are mounted to. It would be difficult to damage the legs without some serious abuse.
