Already tired of listening to Frank Nobilo

Recommended Posts

Just the 1st week of CBS golf coverage and already sick of constant monotone  voice and commentary of Nobilo.

You could make a drinking game out of his use of the word REFERENCED.   Every time he says it, you have to take a shot.  By the time the telecast is over, everyone would be hammered.

Come on CBS,  do you even listen to your own broadcast?  Let him go cover the LIV guys where nobody cares.

The thread you started about him in Tour Talk not getting enough attention?

Frank's cool, was cool as a player, nice and a fun listen.  And he hardly has a monotone, quite the opposite, but seems like commentators are your "thing".  7 "edgy" posts and 6 of them running down Nobilo ---- he's won!

At this point, I'm guessing OP can only be Nobilo's old High School nemesis.

They all have their old faithful verbalisms.

I really don’t have anything against any of the announcers. When I watch golf, I really don’t pay close enough attention to them . I really can’t single out one that I dislike.

Agree 100%.....I can confidently say that if any viewer is concerned about the announcer's verbiage.......

they're not paying enough attention to the golf.

OP has 7 posts on the forum, and he's trying to REFERENCE all things in a single thread to evoke a response.

None of us, including you, are television producers.

Not everyone finds drinking games appealing.

Frank is a genuine guy and his style is his own.

There is an established thread for LIV.

Now, go get your shine box.

I think Nobilo is good but not great, but I’m becoming a big fan of Colt. He brings some humor which is needed since Feherty and McCord have been gone.

a)"apologies ..."is a requirement to avoid getting fined by the busybodies at broadcast licensing headquarters.  Whatever you think of Scott Van Pelt, he deserves immeasurable kudos for saying, upon a profanity uttered quite possibly at the Masters, "he swore, I'm not going to apologize for it.  If you play this game you know what it is."  This is one where you can't blame the announcers.

And given that Radar gave us "it's as cold as a mother in law's kiss", he can say whatever he wants in my book.

Yes, I only have 7 posts.  I have been a member of Golfwrx since 2014.

I read a lot and learn on this site, I really enjoy it.

I only post when I feel strongly about something.  The post that was in Tour Talk was over 2 years ago.  I am not some young kid trying to stir something up.

I am 71 years old and have a 3.8 handicap.   I do not have any thing person against Frank.  I know he is very intelligent, very passionate about the game, and is a great player.  I just don’t like his voice, his delivery, and he is hard to understand.

The only other time I have written any about another announcer besides on this forum, was when Tony Kornheiser was on Monday Night Football. He was the worst decision of any network regarding an announcer.

With Frank’s knowledge and passion for golf, maybe he would be better suited as a consultant or in he production truck instead of behind a microphone or on tv.

While your info is heart warming......doesn't matter, Wrxers will still make fun of you, and question your motives...... That's what they do.....LOL!

Kornheiser did suck, but did you forget about Dennis Miller?

I personally like Nobilo and not really sure why anyone would find him hard to understand. He can be a bit soft spoken but he has a pretty mild accent. Regardless, I did like him more on "Live From" being a counterweight to Chamblee, more than I like him on the course. Chamblee + Nobilo >>>> Chamblee + Duval.
