They've just added another 20% off to the 50% off sale that's been going on for a week or so. Not much left in polos besides a few really ugly ones and a few plain/solid ones, but plenty of quarter-zip/pullover/outerwear stuff available. Also free shipping with the usual "PMWELCOME" code.

For those interested, it works out to be more like a 60% sale.

 

It's 50% off, then they tack on the 20% after.

 

So for instance for a $100 item. The 50% off would make it $50, then another 20% makes it $40.

 

It doesn't go straight to $30.

There was nothing deceptive about it.

 

PM advertised it as an additional 20% off of the already 50% discount on certain items, thus making the total discount 60%. The OP decided to add the two discounts together to get 70%. That is not how math works.

Absolutely deceptive and always has been. It's intentionally marketed to make you think the two discounts apply to the original price.  It's almost always like this

 

Take an additional 20% off!The already reduced sales price.

Have you seen the ad by the way? Let's just agree to disagree but I think you completely misunderstood the original post and the difference between 70% and 60%, which is what the OP claimed the sale to be. No need to go off tangent and discuss deceptive marketing.

I know the OP was incorrect, I know it was 20% of the 50% reduced price, which equates to 60% off the original price.

 

The OP only claimed it was 70% off, because of how these stacked discounts are marketed to lead less savvy shoppers into thinking the discount is larger than it really is. It is not a tangent since the OP was actively duped by the marketing, not by math.

 

So really no need to get your panties in a wad, its OK. You must be a marketing guy lol

Do you have a link to the sale site? The general PM site doesn’t show any discounted items and the code above doesn’t do anything. Maybe the sale is over?

You'll be surprised how many people just add the 2 together and they are counting on that.
