Any issues with adjusting lofts?

So I have a set of p7tw's and noticed that I was short on most of my approach shots.  I took the irons to get checked and appears the irons are all 2* weak.  I've heard some talk about Tiger lofts, but not sure   my irons are just off from normal play.  Anyhow, I'd like to bend these 2* strong, which means I'd have to go 4* since they are already weak.  Am I going to notice any major playability issues or difference in offset?   The shop I go to says they will not bend them more than 2* for me.

I believe his irons were always traditionally lofted meaning off a 48* pw. I have always played my irons 2* strong as well and anytime you bend irons stronger you do add offset and it also affects the bounce. 4* will be very noticeable in terms off offset i think

Rather than bending them all 4* strong, it'll probably be easier just to buy a sharpie and write "G" on your pitching wedge, "P" on your 9-iron, "9" on your 8-iron, etc.

Easy for me to say, since I'm not paying for the bending work, but I'd have the clubs bent back to stock specs so you can try them there.  If they are still too short, go for the two degrees strong then.  The heads themselves should have no problem with bending that much.

Count me in the "keep them at standard, or even weaker" camp.  Club number is irrelevant; there is no club number, only loft.

 

After a while bouncing between 1980 and 2011 iron sets, you get used to it.

 

Maybe you could send the clubs to someone like Ken Flanigan at Flanigan Bilt.  He can solder and fill in the club numbers, and you could have them stamped with the lofts.  Or children's names.  🙂

Off topic - If you and your friends are truly good enough to play P7TWs, no one cares what club you are hitting, only the score you post.

I bought some Miura MB001's used and the guy had them bent 2* strong and I could not stop shanking them.  Never had a shanking issue ever.  Bent them back to standard and it never happened again.  Also, the turf interaction was brutal before I bent them.  catch and dig every time.  After, it was perfect. You need every bit of that minimal bounce when clubs are that thin at the sole.

 

I wonder if bending these smaller clubs with the COG closer to the hosel already, brings it even closer when bent stronger.
