How to obtain OEM shaft tips?

Just out of curiosity how do club builders obtain these?

With the exception of Titleist, you can buy pretty much any major OEM tip at wholesale or retail.  That may not include some of the tour options that, for example, Taylormade and Callaway have, but some of those are accessible to builder accounts.

edit: I've also taken a chance and ordered off eBay.  One of the sellers I like is "scglfr"  (aka The Golf Adapter Store) - I've had no issues with anything I've bought there.

For Titleist, unfortunately, you are stuck buying an aftermarket adapter (CMX, SwingScience, etc) or finding an old Titleist shaft and pulling the adapter. Titleist doesn't sell the adapters loose to anyone as far as I know.  If you think you found a new one, it's probably a knock-off.  The knock-offs have the serial # on the adapter to look like the OEM.  That's not to say they are poor quality as I've never used one to say either way.  You can buy the ferrule from places like Golfworks to use with the adapter if you pull one. Saving the original ferrule is unlikely if not impossible.

I’ve seen a few people say PGASS has OEM Titleist adapters even though it says “swing science.”

It looks just like OEM but I believe the Swing Science adapter is an aftermarket adapter.  That's not to say that it's not as good as the Titleist OEM.  That I don't know.

I have had zero issues with the titleist aftermarket adapters

Same.  No issues with some after-market ones I got from Amazon.  It isn't like titleist likely makes those adapters themselves.  They have some subcontractor do it and that is who probably does it for the aftermarket brand.   Just a guess.

Titleist driver ferrules are actually one of the easiest to save and reuse. 

 

But yes, you can buy fresh ones. Billy Bob's are a good fit.

What's your technique for saving the ferrule?

Club shield paste, screw and washer, shaft puller. Heat carefully on and off.

I've bought Titleist adapter sleeves off eBay for a long time, never experienced a problem.

 

I been a Titleist guy for a long time.  Titleist has never sold individual sleeves or wrenches, that I am aware of.  IMO, Titleist has always portrayed itself as a tour guided, different from companies like Cobra, Ping and PXG, etc., that have Tour departments, but focus on retail market.

Cool stuff.   Didn't know it existed.  I had just used a damp rag or welding cloth up until now with good results as well.

A piece of fiberglass cloth will work in a pinch, too.

I bought some PXG adapters from that eBay store. The sheen on the finish is different from OEM, a little glossier, but otherwise I wouldn't be able to tell them apart.
