The social media postings that Callaway would not have all of these tour only releases did not age well.

 

Hopefully the marketing is better next year.

The Paradym driver and woods look terrible. The crown of the driver looks 1990's Taylormade. Don't think I will be buying Callaway drivers anymore.

I agree..  looks like something out or Walmart.  Plus every address pic I have seen nicks or marks around that front cup/face insert thing.  Whoa..  Glad I got away from Cally years back. What a headache.

3.5 degrees in loft between a "3" wood and a "7" wood.

It has been stupid for a long time but that's just ridiculous.

If when a player swings a club the distance is repeatable and is exactly what they want - what does it matter what the loft or any other spec is?

Because it's done purely to make the consumer believe they can hit the new club further/higher etc so they buy it.

.... and then surprise surprise, you also need to buy an extra hybrid (or wedge in the case of irons lofts) to fill the gap made by the new club which goes 'further'.

While I completely agree with you about loft jacking, every high level player I know (and I caddied professionally for over 30 years) starts with a yardage sheet.  None of them care what you call a club, they are looking for distance coverage first, then spin number, then shot shape.  The last check box is visually pleasing at address.  

 

I play traditionally lofted clubs (47° & 49° PWs).  When playing with my regular groups, we all talk in terms of "hitting a 140 club or 170 club" and never about the number stamped on the bottom.  Only high handicap and dude bro golfers care about that.  "Yes, my 5i goes the same distance as your 7.....they're the same club."
