I disagree. I think it takes more than just one quality premium ball to get a lot of tour guys to play it… it takes years of consistently proving that ball and brand is reliable. We still see callaway and TM struggle to get some of their pros to switch into their ball.

Morbid curiosity.  Bought them.  34.99 for veterans and first responders. $15 cheaper a box than other tour balls will make them hard to pass up for a lot of people if they happen to be decent.

Doesn't say the urethane cover is Cast or TPU?  Not that it would make a difference for my game but would be interesting to note.  The Vice Pro line & Snell are cast, The Vice Pro Zero is TPU.  The newer OnCore Elixr is TPU.

If the charts are accurate, practically the exact same performance for a lot less in cost, especially for those who qualify for the Heroes program. I'd give them a try even with my slower swing speed.

If this is indeed the case KUDOS to them. While not as cheap as the Snell's they aren't $50 - $60 like some were predicting.

 

Looks like Parsons was half right. When PXG first came out he was asked if PXG was going to make a golf ball. He said "no because there isn't a better ball than the Pro V". So he did obviously make one but it seems to be equivalent.

Is there a going to be a commercial where a guy yells at us to play the PXG ball?

 

The kind of commercial that will all but ensure that I will probably never play the ball.

I am interested in them, but have enough Pro V1 to last me until at least early summer so I have plenty of time to see other people review. I think at $40 with free shipping for over $99 purchase, it really is a decent price if the ball performs and is consistent.

So one thing I been wondering about is when does the original Prov1 patent expire?  Patents only last 20 years and someone is bound to copy a prov1 soon. Not sure if this is one but I thought I heard 2023 is when knock off prov1 could be sold.

 

With dimple pattern and being a 3 layer backed up with data on their site it may be the first knockoff prov1.  It probably is not a knockoff but would be exciting if it was.

 

The next question is who is making this ball. Pretty sure they didn't make a factory for this ball.

Brings up an interesting question too....  Before all the major retailers like Golf Galaxy and PGA Tour Superstore start carrying them, will they be manufactured in the factory in Scottsdale and ship from there? Or will they ship from the closest PXG retail store to your location?

 

Just curious since that could be a week wait for a dozen balls (including $7.50 shipping) when you can just walk into target or academy and grab a dozen Pro Vs for about the same price.......

they said they'll be on Amazon in March, and the PXG retail stores stock them. it'd be cool if they made it to other retailers, too, but there should be decent options.

I've played all my golf in either the southeast or mid atlantic, and the only time I get 7 yards of roll on a wedge or 30 yards on a driver is when we're in the middle of a drought and everything is like concrete... I guess their launch monitor must have an "airport runway" setting.

I agree selling balls through their site and Amazon will hurt sales. Don’t have stats on it but I’d think a large chunk of ball sales are guys grabbing a dozen on the way to the course or at the course.

They’re in Scottsdale with 75 mph wedge swing…..have you ever played out there?
