What is The Links Lounge you ask?

It is a place in the 19th hole to hang out and spend some time with WRX friends. 

 

What will be happening in TLL? 

Discussions on playing golf and being a golfer as well as many other subjects. Topics of conversation can be on anything really. We will I'm sure talk about other sports, entertainment, food, music, weather, and life in general. I welcome the sharing of personal photos of anything golf related and if one wants to share other personal photos that would be fantastic. Give a recap about your latest round, lesson, or driving range visit and tell the group how it went. Post up cartoons, Memes, GIF's, and anything that is humorous. Tell stories and share educational things. Let the group know a little about your home city and state. Talk about the vacation you just took. You get the idea. 

 

What can't you do in the TLL? 

Nothing is to be said regarding Politics or Religion. Nothing too racy or vulgar is allowed. No discussion about golf instruction (there is a thread just for that). Be polite to all in the Lounge.

 

All are welcome in The Links Lounge. I hope some of my friends from the NFL Picks Thread and the The Clubhouse Grille come and participate.

Wet was the word for Monday's round...and it wasn't even raining! However, Sunday's rain made a wet course wetter so we (Mrs. NCLancer joined me) faced a course with standing water in spots and no roll whatsoever. Oh well, it was partly sunny, 62 degrees, we walked and I wore shorts in January so that's a positive.  Occoneechee in Hillsborough, NC wasn't busy as we teed off just after 2PM and finished just after 5pm.

Must be nice to play outside.  It was -8 on Monday for us.

 

The Mrs. is playing coeur d’alene tonight with the gals.  She was convinced to play in a sim league, so there it is.  That’s how sad golf is in the north… sim leagues.

 

P3P of course only plays sim golf to drink beer and gamble, so the goals are much simpler and above board.

Got back from my MRI, and the cart girl said I should stop in!  I hate medical procedures and a MRI tube makes me feel like a sardine.  Now in a few days I will see the doctor and after close to 7 years find out what’s wrong with me.  Looking forward to the banter boys!

I hated the kachunk kachunk kachunk of the machine while there’s 2 tons 16” from your face and the person in the other room reminding you to lay still.

 

I just tried to breathe and get to verge of sleep, but you can’t sleep bc then you might move.  A catch-22 for sure.

About 7 years ago I just got done cleaning the house on Thanksgiving and was taking my shoes off and my back seized up. Every since my back has been painful, limits flexibility/movement. I tried different things and even the months of PT hasn’t helped.  I finally decided to get answers.  The other was for my shoulder which was abused by baseball and competitive skiing.  The shoulder and back really hinders my ability to sleep and I’m feeling the affects of that more than ever.  The funny thing was that my back was better while in Florida, partly because the warmer weather and the pain seems to lessen when moving around.  I did feel it quite a bit after longer range sessions.

 

I agree being in the tube is extremely uncomfortable and trying to get to the verge of sleep was my goal as well.

So I have an idea.  For the four majors and the Players we should have a contest, no money, just bragging rights.  Each person that wants to participate picks 5 players in the field, and based on finish earns points. The one with the most points is the Links Lounge Champion Picker of the Year,

I call the MRI machine the torpedo tube!  I have had several MRI's and I am not claustrophobic, but a nurse recommended putting a cover over my eyes which actually helped.

Not because of hunting them or Thanksgiving 😂.

We have a huge turkey flock(?) that sits in an open corn field directly across from our local Cabelas.  Makes me laugh every time I drive by and see a full Cabelas parking lot and 30 huge turkeys watching the people drive in and out from across the street.
