Went on Holidays and didn't think of WRX - Once?!?

Socrates

Recommended Posts

Went on holidays to Mexico for 2 weeks.  On about the 13th day, I realized I hadn't logged onto WRX once in that time.  Even though I was golfing while there.

Somehow, I didn't even miss WRX.  Must go to the Dr. for a checkup.  Maybe I have low T or something.

Played bad, played good for FWIW.

I don't find this too odd. I love WRX, but it's really just a way to scratch the golf itch when I'm not on the course and there is nothing better to do.

If I'm out playing, or out doing something else fun, I don't think about it much either.

I didn’t log on for 6 months until about 3 weeks ago. I came back when I had a strange urge to experience more negativity in my life. Working w/a therapist to figure it out.

I intend to take a break in another couple months. I really want to focus on my game and get away from chasing equipment this year.

Doing more 3w testing the next 6-8 weeks, once my stealth2+ 3w arrives. Once that club is solidified, my bag will be set. My swing is in a really good spot too.

Will take a break to help with both swing and equipment urges.

A good four months for me, lol, thought it was longer.  I think Diana Ross calls it a sweet LIV hangover, we all can't wait to get over!

So lucky Reed had an issue seeing his ball - people, people, he hasn't seen his balls for years!

May have to take a sabbatical before the Masters so I'm ready in case anyone talks smack about '86 or Tiger has a drop issue that has the "haters" losing their minds (Brandel would be defending him this time, lol, he's been sucking up for a couple years now --- won't work Brandel).

Always entertaining!

It’s a big loop. The first year or two you experience it all for the first time. After that you see the same takes/complaints about the same things. The only thing that changes is the date! Then add ‘the unmentionable’ (well you mentioned it lol) on top of it…

Every year I take golf trips, some longer than others.  Social media sites are seldom in my thoughts.

When I realized that I hadn't even thought of it, it was kind of weird.  I mean, I was sitting (laying) on a beach chaise with nothing to do for hours with an active internet connection available.  I was pondering my poor play and how to resolve it and I never once thought to post something about why I was casting my driver?  Deep in my own thoughts, I figured it out on my own without having to consult Monte or Ferguson.

FWIW, I didn't even realize the PGA Show was happening, didn't know who won the Sony or the American Express or if LIV Golf was even still a thing.  Like the old days, just me and the golf course.  My biggest concern was did I have enough golf balls remaining to play my last 2 rounds.  I was like a blonde woman looking at orange juice - I concentrated and didn't lose a ball in my last round and came home with 7 ProV1's.  Phew!!!

AND my golf equipment went through 6 airport terminals without being Shanghaied and sent to some unnamed warehouse by some disgruntled baggage handler, never to be seen again.  A total success.  Now to convince the wife that I need a trip to Palm Springs in March to get in some desert golf (by myself).

I left Wrx for about 4 months 8 years ago. I have to be honest, it was horrid.  My golf game sucked. I only hit my driver 220 yds, I lost massive CHS, down to low 90’s.  Nobody would ask me about my shoes, my jeans, or joggers on the first tee. Nobody even asked about my equipment.  I stopped packing heat in my bag, stopped getting in near fights about slow play at the turn, even stopped perusing the BST in between shots.

I joined the Wrx world  again after 4 months and my golf game returned. I put 1/2” strips of lead tape on my irons and swingweight went from D2 to D2.583956 and I gained 27yds with each of my irons. I tipped my driver 9 inches and got my CHS back up to my normal 145ish and 475yd carry, with ease I might add. I’m a 4 cap and I played with Yuka Saso and I beat her, again, with ease. We played at Augusta National, which, is pretty easy and not at all as difficult as most Wrxer’s think it is.  Yuka had a hard time breaking 85 cuz she only had 1 hour to warm up and had never played it before.  She also didn’t have a caddie.  But I digress….

That's saying something!  😀 Playing a round by myself at home, no biggie, but it's quite another asking the wife for golf trip alone...she plays as much as I do. 🙂  So, we're heading to desert next month for five days, Champions tour visiting, and 3–4 days of golf.
