Graphite Shafts - Similar to MMT 125 TX

Hello everyone, I'm currently in the MMT 125 TX and T100s irons.  I really love the set up, but I'd like a little more spin with similar feel.  I don't know if there's really anything out there that would work - or maybe just look at a new ball?  Currently play the TP5.  For reference my SS with a 6 iron is 90-92 average and I get 5000 to 5200 spin rate.  8 iron spin rate is 7000-7400.  

 

I am also thinking about switching irons to standard T100.  Maybe the extra loft would put the spin where I needed it too.

 

Any recommendations?

The T100S are stronger lofted.  If you switched to something more traditional like the T100, you should see an increase in spin.  The spin numbers you have now aren't bad considering the lofts you play.

This /|\. Loose the distance lofts. At your CHS, you don't really need them unless you're playing a lot of long courses at sea level.

The more I've been researching the more I think that makes sense...just a little larger investment though

Bend the lofts weak and seeing that gets you what you're looking for.. maybe. If it works it definitely cheaper.

no need to buy the standard T100, just weaken your current set....also 5000 out of a 6i is a good amount of spin already

 

as for a ball, Ive found Bridgestone Tour B XS and Mizuno RB Tour X to have the highest spin for Tour balls

ha.  good point, I had not even thought about bending them.  I like the window I'm hitting with the long irons right now, so that may make the most sense is bending them progressively as i get more loft.

You have the correct solutions, weaken the iron lofts 2* and retest. Change golf balls as needed, but isolate those two variables. You'll be just fine, find a decent club builder.

I play new T100s irons with light weight Tensei AV Blue composite shafts, and spin the hard low-spin DASH ProV1x plenty, enough to get backspin 1-5', still.  I have MMT 113g Wedge shafts in SW & LW, again they spin plenty.

 

My other 3i-PW 620 MB irons (spin machines) had MMT 125s shafts till weight was too heavy over multiple days of play; went to MMT 105s in them with MMT TX 8 iron shafts in SM6  wedges.  They spin plenty as well. 

 

It could be all that's needed is to hit the ball harder?
