Need suggestions - new neck

Hey all. I had a putter refinished and has a new neck put on. Long story short, the putter came back super upright and not face balanced like I requested. I can’t get a hold of them either. Is there anyone else I could send this this to and get fixed? I want to just get a new neck on it. Its current state isn’t very playable. Thanks!

Just uploaded the photos. The lie angle has to be close to 78+ and has quite of bit of toe hang. I requested it to be 74* and face balanced.

Honestly with a neck that long bending the lie down should get that to face balanced.

I thought about doing that but was worried it would snap since I’m trying to bend at least 4 degrees.

Who did the work? I may ask another company if they feel comfortable bending it.

I believe he was busy with the PGA show so hopefully he gets back to you very soon.

Hopefully, so. It’s quality work but more aesthetically pleasing right now than playable. I almost have to stand the putter straight up to get it to sole flat. If not, I hope I can find someone else to at least put a new neck or just get it back to original. It wasn’t a cheap project to begin with.

Definitely won’t snap a stainless neck if you bend it 4 degrees.  Unless the weld is bubblegum you will be fine.

Haha. Embrace. I had the same issue and they kept my weights. Quality of work was good but they sent mine back 4 degrees upright of what I asked as well. Ended up having a qualified shop bend it, but only after I emailed Embrace and let them know that if it breaks trying to fix their oversight, they are fixing it without me having to pay.

That's unfortunate. The putter looks really nice. 

 

I also think a putter maker who knows what they are doing can get that to be face balanced at your lie angle.

 

Also...that neck looks crazy long. Maybe it is just the photo..

I saw your thread and was worried why would come back that upright as well. I already sent it away so there was nothing I could do. It took over 4 months as well.

It really is that long lol… not sure why to be honest. Don’t really want to take it to my local shops but also don’t want to spend anymore money on it sending it off to be bent

I know it is a pain, but take them to task.  You asked for something and paid for it and what was provided was not what you paid for, they should take it back for free, bump you to the front of the line, bend it where it needs to be and ship it right back and quickly.  That is what they SHOULD do, I am not saying they will.

 

It looks like they installed it close to 90*, but never finished the bending to get the lie and face balanced.  The two people I would trust most to fix it both make their own putters and do not fix other people's work.

 

However there are a pile of people on this forum that have had work done and if you cannot get embrace to do what's right I am sure someone will have a good recommendation.

The main issue is that most of these amazing putter makers don't do restorations/adjustments.   It is really hard to find someone you trust. 

 

The only person I would reach out to is 1) Embrace (because they made this mess) 2) Ken Flanigan. Flanigan is in Ohio...old school and can get things done. He will be honest with you about what/if it can be done.

Already reached out multiple times, I doubt I’ll get a reply. Just not sure how this made it out of the workshop. I’ll reach out to Flanigan though, thanks!
