TGW Offering Lower Priced Ventus on 2023 Drivers

Haven’t bought a new driver since getting the Ping G400 LST, when it came out and feel like it’s time for a change. 
 

I see on TGW they are offering the Ventus Blue, Black, Red, and TR for $213 to $250 on custom orders compared to +$350 on other sites like PGA Tour Superstore or Golf Galaxy. Is this a non-Velocore version or some other issue that I should be aware of before pulling the trigger?

These should be real deal velocore. Many manufacturers and distributors all sell for varying price structures. Im not sure if it's a fujikura contract or what. Cobra has always had different prices than callaway and TM. Same goes for TGW, Golf galaxy, etc...

Looked at custom TM Stealth 2 driver on TGW. In the shaft customization drop down menu it explicity states the Ventus shafts with Velocore in the title with an upgrade cost of $297.50 

 

The upgrade Ventus shafts for the Ping 430 driver for $213 do not state Velocore on the drop down. Same thing as Cobra for $250 for the Ventus.

 

OTOH Callaway shows the Ventus Velocore for aun upgrade cost of $250. Titleist shows the Velocore shaft upgrade cost at $310.

 

You should call TGW directly to find out for certain what upgraded Ventus version is correct for what driver you are interested in.

Appreciate you looking those up and listing them. I think it’s a pretty decent deal. And you’re right, would definitely have to confirm by a call if they aren’t explicitly spelling out that they’re Velocore.

Has anyone purchased a Ping G430 driver from tgw.com with $213 upcharge for Ventus TR shaft? As the original poster said, their upcharge is less than the other stores and I’m wondering if TGW is using the VeloCore version or non-VeloCore version.

 

I ordered it Friday night and found that there was no mention of VeloCore in the confirmation email and I called them on Sat. The rep did not even know what VeloCore is and she said it ‘should be’ a VeloCore version in a very non-convincing way.

 

i wanted the answer in writing and sent them a mail, but just got an auto-reply that told me to contact them by calling them. I text messages them and a rep said they will get back to me in 2 business days, but it would be too late to cancel the custom order if I get the answer on Tue.

 

Please let me know.

I don't think there is a 'velocore for ping' version of this shaft.

FYI, $213 is just the upcharge that Ping allows certain online retailers to offer for the Ventus (carlsgolfland and TGW both offer this price), so I dont think this is a pricing error or discount from the norm.  I have ordered through Carls at this rate and it is a real deal ventus velocore and I would assume the same if you order through TGW.
