Valid disappointment? Help me please…

Got a SM9 Low Bounce K off the bay, stated “very good” condition, normal wear on the sole. Now that I have it in hand and can see better angles/lighting the sole wear is significant browning, needless to say I’m disappointed in the item. Worth reaching out to the seller in your opinion or just the risk of buying used clubs? Thank you.

Seriously though, I would have to see the face to decide if I was bothered.  Grooves matter.  It would only take a few dozen shots on a sandy range mat to do that.   If grooves look very good, I would be ok with it.  I am assuming the choices were New, Like New,  Very good, Average & Sucky.      The lack of Bag Chatter makes it seem pretty new, or God forbid, the previous owner used iron covers on a Wedge.

I was thinking possibly it had a pre worn leading edge grind? It also has sight lines so I know someone paid for some up charges. Face isn’t terrible, most milling marks are still present and only the slightest browning below the bottom groove.

I would be OK with very good on that as long as the price was 15 -20% below new retail.  To  get a used Wedge with grooves any better than that you probably have to go to “like new” condition.

It not in 'like new' condition but it is in good condition. VERY good? that could be a bit of stretch. 

 

Really no harm in reaching out as long as you nice about it. The no need to be outraged or anything. Not sure what you paid but as seller if I sold something and the person was reasonable and not happy I would try to work it out. At the end of the day though, if you paid $100, nocking 5% off would be reasonable - so like $5. To me that is not worth the trouble.

The first picture at the top of the post is from the listing, the second was in hand. I’m content with the face but disappointed with the browning on the bottom and not interested in a pre worn edge if that is in fact the cause. I’m reaching out to the seller for clarification if there was any customization done. Wasn’t particularly a fan on the listing photo angled just enough to not really highlight the sole condition.

I 100% agree with you, seems like angle for photo hid the wear on the sole. I would be unhappy and reach out to seller.

Then you have your answer no matter what anyone else would do.  Don’t dink around asking for a discount, just request a refund.  If the seller is confident in the product, he / she will create some good will for a few $ in shipping costs.

And I’m assuming it’s all wear as it’s a chrome wedge, I don’t believe Vokey offers and hand grind options with anything other than raw.

It was stated very good with normal sole wear. Looks about right and if the price was right I wouldn’t have a problem. By making this post though clearly you’re not happy so I think you have no choice but to talk to seller and figure out a solution
