East Valley Memberships (Young Executive & Social)

Moved to the East Mesa (Mesa Gateway Airports) area a couple years ago. Have gotten by playing most the notable tracks around the valley, frequent Longbow/Las Sendas/Ak Chin regularly, Toka/Augusta Ranch in the winter when tee times get difficult to come by. 

 

Finally in a place to start exploring the opportunity to join a club for the first time. My wife and I are in our early 30's, thankfully she is on board with the idea. Looking for a club that has a Young Executive or lower entry point membership, decent social atmosphere, and the opportunity to meet others our age. On the golf side, a good track that is kept well both summer and winter, tee time availability isn't to difficult, and there are good tournament events to join in on. 

 

Anyone a member of a club out here that can provide some insight into their experience? Mesa Country Club, Superstition Mountain, and Seville seem to be the closest to me. I know Mesa had some YE memberships a while ago, doesn't look like it now.

EV is not a good place for what you are looking for.  @fore_life can provide insight on Mesa CC; you will hear the same thing as Seville - great facility/club, but you might as well be playing on a $10 muni for how crowded it is; Superstition has 2 very good courses and a great facility, but a bit older and much more expensive.    Not sure how Alta Mesa is doing these days as you don't hear much anymore.  Encanterra is another really good club - but most are ancient and visitors.

The best lower cost private clubs are nowhere near you unfortunately. Tatum Ranch and Moon Valley CC. Gainey Ranch is a club corp membership and they usually have junior memberships, but that might have changed since the covid golf boom. I even heard Mesa CC had doubled their dues/fees since 2020 but not sure how accurate that is. 

 

Seville actually cancelled a lot of memberships middle of last year. Anything that wasn’t a full golf membership was given 2nd tier treatment and some membership tiers revoked completely.

Sadly this is the answer I am getting all around. Sucks there is no approachable membership right now in the area. I guess I will stick with bouncing around until I win the lottery...

I'm a member at Alta Mesa which is on the east side of the valley and close to Mesa Airport and such. I highly recommend the club. There are no food minimums, there is no waitlist. There are reduced dues for a junior membership until 40 and we are an equity club meaning you'll get something back when you leave the club. We also have unlimited carts included in monthly dues which makes summer golf easy.
