Drop shipping to PXG store

I thought I can remember people saying that if you placed an order online and had it drop shipped to a store , the shipping was free. Anyone experience this. I bought a 5 wood from the Orlando store today and they didn’t have any 7 woods in stock. Told me they could order online but shipping would be $30 regardless if they shipped to my home address or to that store .

Like a lot of PXG pricing, I think this is depending on the sales/promotion/sales policy that week more than something set in stone. When I bought something from the store last year, it was free to get it shipped to the store. But I've heard other times there was a shipping cost charged.

When I went to the Fairfax, Virginia, store to place an order and had it shipped there for me to pick up, there was no shipping charge. The salesperson punched in the order right there. 
 

But you may need to be there in person. I do not think you can order online or call the national sales number and have your order shipped to a store for free.

Weird as I was in store buying the 5 wood ans wanted to order the seven wood as they had no stock

That is weird. You should not have to pay shipping for a club coming to the store in their usual shipment. I can’t imagine going to any store and being told if I order clubs I have to pay to have

them shipped to their store!

Ive read that also but like you was never able to do it - but I only tried on the website.

They told me that they are sending them hardly any stock as they want people to get fit and custom order

so you go to a PXG store to order something they should probably have in stock at the store - but they want to charge YOU 30 dollars to have that item shipped to the store? 

But maybe if they have one of their random loud promotions that would not be the case?

When I did a custom fitting just over a year ago now (I ended up not buying the irons or driver I was fitted for though) the fitter said I could have the clubs shipped to a PXG store for no charge.

I was just fitted and ready to pull the trigger but I was told $60.00 to have a set shipped to the store…May just be a deal breaker for me.

That doesn't make too much sense

thought the whole point of shipping to store was to save on shipping

Yep!  That’s what I thought.  My fitter told me that PXG was taking a hit on the shipping so it’s the same shipping to the store or to my home.  I am about 15 mins from my local PXG…I kept my wallet in my pocket.  They sure are nice clubs!

I think the issue is that their stores are not traditional retail stores as we know it. They are basically fitting centers with a few clubs/clothing out front. They don’t really carry any kind of inventory so they are not constantly restocking their inventory. Your clubs therefore would be a standalone shipment to the store.

Why they couldn’t group several orders and eat the shipping is beyond me. I walked away from the store without buying a 5 wood because they wanted $30 shipping.

I did exactly that.  They were very quick to respond but unfortunately they do charge tax as I am in Washington state.

I live in CA and have never been charge sales tax.

Maybe it changed or possibly a way for the rep in store to make money from charging shipping? When I got fitted last winter and bought a set of irons I had them shipped to the store because it was free, and also to have them verify the build before I got them.

I mean I don’t want to be a stickler, but you’ll pay for a fitting, you’re willing to pay 4 figures for clubs...but an extra $25-30 for shipping makes you go home?

Yes because I saved the $60.00 in shipping and also saved on sales tax….So do the math 🙂

Definitely have heard in the past as well they did not charge to ship to store. In my opinion, it seems like a slap in the face to charge a person to ship to a store.
