Got “screwed” on a driver deal.

Bought a g400 max on fb. The problem is he accidentally sent it with an all fit/uni fit screw. Imagine my sadness when trying to slap it all together and put it in the bag. I was hoping to have some range time with it this week and potentially take it on my Hawaii trip next week. I have two questions. Is there any chance a good hardware store would have the right screw and if so does anyone know the info on the sizing? I’m no where near a quality golf store (4 hours) I contemplated going to dsg and begging a minimum wage employee to let me pull a screw from a demo club that hasn’t been touched since 2017. No luck at the local pro shop as well. I’ve already ordered online just hoping someone had one laying around I could pay to overnight ship or suggestion on substitution at the hardware store. Thanks 
 

EDIT- Multiple screws have been ordered with expedited shipping. I’m not sure why this was a difficult topic for a few of you. I’ll just wait by the mail box. No need for further suggestions to order some online. Thanks fellas.

With all due respect I’m assuming you didn’t read the whole post lol. I have ordered one already I’m just wanting asap to “potentially” take on a golf trip to Hawaii. I’m looking for the quickest solution since I wasn’t planning on taking delivery of a useless driver head 😅. Ie hardware store, golfwrx pal having one laying around I could buy and pay for overnight shipping etc. 

 

I suppose i could order 2-3 more from different sources and see which gets here first. Cheap experiment 😂

Sorry, no didn't read everything. You'll be hard pressed to find a screw at a hardware store. BUT, you might find a G400 series fairway in a used bin somewhere and the screws are the same.

 The only other ping wood I have is a g425 so dice there and no shop around with a used bin. I need to move 😂. I think I’ll hope the screw gets here Thursday and I have a few range sessions and go with my gut on bagging it. Thank you!

I buy a lot of stuff online and I always look for the closest seller when I need something quick.

If you have a hardware store close by, it's likely a 10-32, M4, or M5 screw. You can either take the shaft in and try them, or buy one of each. Probably about $1 each for a stainless button head screw. It won't be torx, though.

Not sure of the strength rating of the OEM shaft screw, I’m sure it’s higher than typical hardware store stock. And some are metric. Beware of snapping it off.

I ordered one from shaft connect as soon as I could but I want to get this thing together asap and take it for some trial runs and potentially take on my Hawaii trip on the 20th so obviously this was quite the speed bump in my plans. 
If anyone has one laying around I’d be interested in seeing what kind of deal we can make to priority ship that sucker since I have no idea when the one I ordered will actually ship. Thanks fellas.

I’ll I’ve got is a DSG and one decent pro shop but they didn’t have anything to help. I’m sure the DSG has one they have demos going back ten years lol. I was thinking of finding the youngest most minimum wage looking employee and trying to talk them into helping me out. I live in a golf desert at this chapter in my life 💔

A lot of dicks sell there demo and left over drivers in clearance area.....Depending on how you would feel about it, you could buy a driver, use the screw on your trip, and return the club when you get back....Maybe not ethical, but!

It’s a thought for sure. This is one the dicks with no “pro” or anything. It’s a sorry excuse of a golf section but the apparel is decent. I’ll try and talk some kid into it. At this point my inner club ho is so convinced this combo will work id pay the kid $50 to look the other way as I did through the 17 staff bags of demos with my wrench 😂

I would be quite surprised if the Ping adapter used any sort of odd or custom screw, as far as diameter and thread pitch. Take the shaft to any hardware store and you will most likely find one the correct size.  I have had no issue sorting thru my bolt bin and finding one to fit a TM or Cobra when pulling a shaft, but I have no experience with a Ping adapter so I can't be sure.

With all due respect, even though you've already ordered one, apparently you're still looking for ideas to get it "for sure".

 

And Redneck gave you a great idea.  Ebay.

 

You've got a full 36 hours or so to contact a seller (or 6) asap and tell him you need the thing shipped FIRST THING Monday morning, USPS Priority (Envelope ?) and you will pay the difference in shipping. You should have it by Weds, the 14th.

 

If he can do it, click "Buy it now". 👍

Already done from a few vendors. Should have a few ship Monday asap but it’s still looking like Thursday delivery. I made this post in search of a quicker option but it doesn’t seem like one will pan out and I’ll just wait by the mail box. No big deal. Much bigger problems in life then trying to cobble together a new driver for a trip to Hawaii 😅

I’ll have one before I leave just wanted to try out the shaft/head combo as much as possible before I decide to bag it for some of the most expensive golf of my life. 
 

Of course the question is why change drivers before the trip  if the one in the bag is working….and I can’t answer that for you 😂

Must be even easier to sit here and reply with nonsense. The original comment I replied to did not read the whole post and DID also offer a helpful reply even though I have 3 screws on order so what more advice does that comment, yours, and the one before you offer me?  Seriously? If I buy all of eBay’s stock out will it appease the peanut gallery? I appreciate the eBay suggestion although I was already on top of that.
