They’ve had forged Vokey wedges over there for years, I think those ones came out in 2019?

 

I prefer ‘our’ Vokeys though as those Forged ones have a multi-metal construction, and I think the one club where you don’t want added bits is a wedge.

As others have said the Forged Vokey wedges have been available in the JDM space for many years. If you want a great forged wedge look at the Mizuno wedges.  They added Boron

awhile back to help with longevity and have enough bounce and grind options as well as shaft options to fit anyone.

I think its japan only to compete over in japan. They likely wont buy cast. We will.

I have been playing Japanese forged Vokeys for a while and they are so much better than what is sold here in the US. Never understood why Titleist does not offer them in the largest golf market. 🤔.

Yeah, those Vokey's stateside are terrible.  They never win any events..feel awful, no spin.  No pro's play them.

 

I've played forged wedges from various mfg...and IMHO the Vokes always feel the best.

To your point. I’ve played Vokey wedges for many years with forged irons from many different manufacturers. Never once have I thought ‘man, I wish my wedges felt as good as my irons’. Regular Vs are terrific. Only reason I see someone gettin the JDM forged version would be the ‘just bcs/cool factor’. Gotta admit, they are gorgeous and quite unique.

They do Asia is the largest golf market in the world.

Agreed. Vokeys feel fine. 
 

The PXG Sugar Daddys feel better than any wedge I’ve ever hit. I just don’t like the price or the limited grind options.

There was a coach I was talking to just about clubs, we got onto forged wedges and he said he had a friend that got some Miura wedges, he absolutely loved them but they lasted a season for him since they were so soft and wore like butter in a pan.

Mizuno has always done forged wedges and they last as long as you want to play them.... They do add Boron to help that though.

I was just joking with you.

 

I was referring to the US as an individual country and not counting a whole continent. The US is still the largest equipment golf market. (size and market share)

The reason these companies offer these types of clubs (forged wedges as an example) because Asian countries can bear higher prices (e.g. $350) and consumer are willing to pay for them. The margins are more attractive for the golf companies to offer higher priced products.

A $350 price point for a wedge will not work in the US. Sales will be minuscule and thus not worthy for the companies to offer them here.

These have been available in different iterations for some time. Personally, I've never had any issue with the feel of the cast Vokeys. These could make for a successful wedge works release though.
