Toulon Las Vegas vs tri hot 5k 7

Anybody compare the two? Really liked the tri hot in the store but they don't have the toulon.

LV is much smaller and crisper off the face. 5K 7 lets you miss big and get away with it much more so than LV.

Ive rolled both. Other than the obvious difference between milled metal head vs. insert, the difference is pretty negligible. LV is definitely noticeably smaller, which took some getting used to after switching from 7.

I would definitely try to get your hands on one of the Toulons to try it out first if possible. They’re just about complete opposites when it comes to feel/sound off the face. The White Hot insert is soft and the Toulon face is pretty fast and crisp. Both great options, it just comes down to what kind of feel you’re looking for.

These are huge. Like poster above, may want to check these out in a shop before blindly purchasing.

Looks like the toulon Las Vegas isn't available on the odyssey website.

I've tested both but ultimately ended up going with a Phantom X 7.5. Just like the feel better if Im going for a milled putter. I do think I will purchase a 5K this season though, I like having different options. The 5K 7 feels more like a soft milled putter compared to the traditional/OG white hot feel. Gotta be the weight behind it. Crazy forgiving though I'd love to see a ball speed numbers test across the face for the Tri Hot 5K line.  Also its definitely a bigger head than a regular 7 / the Las Vegas. Odyssey has crazy good/versatile options these days!

I played my LV most of last season. When it wasn’t in the bag I gamed a naked Garage Daytona Beach. The 5K Seven has only been in my hands for a short time so my opinion is still developing. I’m playing Tuesday and 5K Seven is going in the bag.

I haven’t seen many of the 5k 7CH for sale recently so that’s promising in terms of playability. Can’t wait to get my hands on one, I’m one to usually play more toe hang than it has but this thing just rolls the ball so we’ll and doesn’t make me skittish on those short putts

How much difference do you see between the ch and a double bend? I don't even remember which neck I tried at gg the other day.

My pro shop didn’t have the double bend unfortunately

I keep drooling over this putter every time I see pics of it. The only thing stopping me from snagging it is if Toulon comes out with a CH neck Las Vegas before a golf tourney I’m in beginning of may

About 20 degrees toe hang. Not really that much tbh.

Have the limited edition Toulon LV from last year's Valero Open and it's great.

 

Currently playing Tri-Hot 5k triple wide tho as I do need that extra forgiveness 😂

5K Seven had a good outing. Due to a frost delay I got plenty of time on the putting green to get dialled in. It is definitely more forgiving than the LV. It’s going to remain in the bag for the time being. The biggest adjustment is getting used to looking at such a large putter head.

I’d look at the 7S or LV 4.5. They’ll have similar toe hang.
